GOP lawmaker says he received this ‘disgusting’ message from Planned Parenthood activists

Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-Ind.) posted on Facebook this week that his Terre Haute office received a “disgusting” message in a package from Planned Parenthood activists.

Bucshon posted a picture of the contents of the package, which included a letter written on Planned Parenthood letterhead and a bag of erasers that bore the words “you can never erase your votes.”

The package also contained a box of Sour Patch Kids candy. An activist wrote on the box: “Kids are sweet, but forced birth leaves a sour taste.”

Bucshon called the message “a shocking and disgusting attempt to devalue human life.”

“Regardless of your views on the issue, how can anyone defend this sickening and callous disregard for the sanctity of human life?” he said.

The National Organization for Women’s Terre Haute, Indiana, chapter confirmed the authenticity of the letter on Facebook. One of the signatories of the letter wrote, “The letter is genuine from Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and it was signed Terre Haute NOW because my colleague that joined me and I are members of that organization.”

The activist added: “The Sour Patch Kids, the most ‘callous... shocking and disgusting’ item, were my idea. I love candy. They certainly caused a reaction.”

A spokesperson for Indiana’s Planned Parenthood affiliate did not immediately respond to TheBlaze’s request for comment.
