Starbucks celebrated for the 'gay agenda' campaign on their holiday cups
November 16, 2017
People are theorizing that the holiday design for Starbucks' cups contain a hidden pro-gay message, and their official Twitter account appeared to confirm it.
Why do people think the cups have a gay agenda?
Buzzfeed published an article applauding what they say are pro-gay holiday cups. The outlet cited a promotional video from the coffee company that includes two women holding hands.
"While people who follow both Starbucks holiday cup news and LGBT issues celebrated the video," Buzzfeed reported, "the ordinary Starbucks customer probably didn't realize the cup might have a gay agenda."
Also, when a Twitter user claimed the couple were lesbian, the official Starbucks account didn't deny it, and instead responded, "We're happy you enjoy the new campaign, Rufus!" with a green heart emoji.
We're happy you enjoy the new campaign, Rufus! 💚

Here's the video:
While LGBT groups supported the hidden message, others did not.

However, there were many more tweets mocking Fox News for reporting, "Starbucks' holiday cups accused of pushing 'gay agenda'" than there were those actually outraged about the cups.
