Rapper says LaVar Ball should thank Trump: 'Be thankful,' 'Give respect
November 24, 2017
Rapper Master P revealed his thoughts on LaVar Ball's apparent lack of appreciation shown President Donald Trump for freeing his son from a Chinese jail.
What did he say?
In a video released on Thursday by TMZ Sports, the rapper — real name Percy Robert Miller — insinuated that Ball was less than grateful after Trump worked with Chinese President Xi Jinping to intercede on behalf of Ball's son and two other UCLA basketball players who were accused of shoplifting and subsequently jailed.
Miller was approached by a TMZ cameraman, who asked the rapper his thoughts on the feud between Ball and Trump.
"I just think it’s a blessing to have your kids back at home, man," Miller told the TMZ cameraman. "You gotta just be humble."
He added, "Man, just be thankful that your kids are safe, they are not in prison, and do the right thing. [Trump] had something to do with your kid getting home, so, right is right and wrong is wrong."
After the cameraman asked Miller if Ball should outright thank the president for his efforts, he answered, "If that man, which had a big thing of getting his son home, that’s what it should be. Give respect where it’s at."
