Alabama's freshman backup QB came off the bench to win a title -- and gave Jesus the credit after

The Alabama Crimson Tide were down and out. Losing 13-0 to Georgia at halftime of the College Football Playoff National Championship game, head coach Nick Saban turned to first-year backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for a comeback.

Tagovailoa delivered, throwing three touchdown passes and leading Alabama to a national title win in only his eighth appearance. The previous seven times Tagovailoa took the field, he was playing in garbage time during blowout victories.

It was a miraculous overtime comeback victory, and Tagovailoa knew exactly where to give the credit after the game.

"First and foremost, I'd just like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With him, all things are possible. That's what happened tonight," Tagovailoa said in the postgame interview after the biggest night of his career, and maybe his life.

"All glory goes to God," he continued. "I can't describe what He's done for me and my family. Who would have ever thought I would have been here, right now in this moment. So, you know, thank God for that, and I'd just like to thank my teammates and coach Saban for giving me the opportunity.

AL.com reports that after the interview, Tagovailoa, who is from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, went into the stands and prayed with his family.

Below is a video of Tagovailoa's postgame interview.
