Liberal TV host sincerely praises Trump for ‘actual progress’ in talks with North Korea

Liberal TV host Trevor Noah praised President Donald Trump for the "actual progress" he and his administration has made in securing talks with North Korea about possible denuclearization.

What did he say?

During the Wednesday airing of his Comedy Central show, "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah," the liberal host said that credit should be paid where it's due when it comes to Trump's negotiating skills.

"I know our first instinct is to hate," Noah said of CIA Director Mike Pompeo's meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, "but if it wasn’t for his craziness, North Korea would never have come to the table."

Noah added, "You know that’s what he did. Trump is like the near-death experience that makes people forget why they were fighting in the first place. That’s who he is."

The late-night show host went on to laud Trump's "actual progress" in securing such talks between the U.S. and North Korea.

Trump celebrated Pompeo's meeting with Kim earlier this week when news of the meeting broke, and Trump confirmed the news via a Wednesday tweet.

He wrote, "Mike Pompeo met with Kim Jong Un in North Korea last week. Meeting went very smoothly and a good relationship was formed. Details of Summit are being worked out now. Denuclearization will be a great thing for World, but also for North Korea!"

During a news conference Wednesday, Trump said that he would "respectfully leave" any potential North Korean talks if they are not fruitful.

"If I think that it’s a meeting that is not going to be fruitful, we’re not going to go," Trump said. "If the meeting, when I’m there, is not fruitful, I will respectfully leave the meeting."
