The Washington Post reported this week that President Donald Trump shared highly classified information about the fight against terrorism with Russian officials.
On Tuesday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program,” Glenn Beck and the guys read the Washington Post report and then analyzed carefully worded comments from White House national security adviser Gen. H.R. McMaster defending President Donald Trump. Glenn praised McMaster's character but wondered why he worded his statements defending Trump so carefully, revealing little actual information.
“I think McMaster is a hero, a patriot,” Glenn said. “I think this guy is really credible.” But while the adviser seems like a trustworthy official, his actual statements had little information because he did not deny what was actually written in the Washington Post report, Glenn pointed out.
“The story that came tonight, as reported, is false,” McMaster said in the first red flag in his comments.
“If there’s nothing in that story that is accurate, why not just say the story is false?” Glenn asked.
In the interview, McMaster said, “At no time were intelligence sources or methods discussed.” But he was denying something that was never in the report in the first place.
“At no point in the Washington Post story do they allege that [Trump] revealed sources,” Stu Burguiere noted. “So he’s denying something the Washington Post did not allege.”
