‘Atomic Blonde’ rated ‘fresh’ ahead of opening weekend

Charlize Theron’s “Atomic Blonde” has a “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes ahead of the action flick’s July 28 release date.

This week on “Pat & Stu,” Pat Gray, Stu Burguiere and Jeffy Fisher were relieved to see that the movie’s ratings so far have given it a “fresh” score – but still a rating that isn’t high enough to make it a “critic’s movie.” As of this writing, “Atomic Blonde” was rated 81 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, a movie site that tallies critics’ reviews to give audiences an average rating.

“We’re talking about the greatest film of all time,” Stu said. “This is a movie that if it is the second greatest movie of all time, I will be incredibly disappointed.”

While Jeffy Fisher was out sick for part of this week, he did some research on the three distinct trailers available for “Atomic Blonde.”

“Good work, Jeffy,” Pat said.

Theron’s other action films have included “The Fate of the Furious,” released earlier this year, and 2015’s surrealist-dystopian adventure “Mad Max: Fury Road,” which received a Best Picture nomination and won six Oscars for technical achievements in production design, editing and sound mixing.
