Bill Cosby was almost the face of this big internet company

On Monday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program,” Glenn Beck shared a story from Jay Walker, the entrepreneur who founded Priceline.com.

Comedian Bill Cosby, who is now about to face trial for alleged sexual assault, was almost the face of Priceline.com, a website that helps travelers find deals on airline tickets and hotels. Apparently the company dodged a bullet when Walker tried to get a certain celebrity to be the face of the company soon after it was founded in 1997, but they couldn’t pay the star’s $2 million asking price.

In another attempt, Priceline pursued actor William Shatner, best known as Star Trek’s Captain Kirk, to represent the company. As the story went, Shatner didn’t think the internet was going to last and turned down the offer.
