Glenn: Who will be the left’s next target after O’Reilly?

Glenn Beck and author David Limbaugh talked about liberal intolerance, free speech and conservative media on Thursday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program.”

Glenn wondered who will be the next target now that Bill O'Reilly has left Fox News after Media Matters reportedly leveraged sexual assault accusations to take him down.

Limbaugh said liberals want to stop free speech so badly that they can resort to violence. Colleges paint conservatives as bigots and convince students that liberals are compassionate, Limbaugh explained. He talked about why conservatives believe in free speech while liberals do their best to suppress it.

“We believe in the marketplace of ideas and that our ideas will triumph if given a full airing,” Limbaugh said. “Liberals apparently either don’t believe that or they don’t care; they want to suppress us. And I mean that: They want to suppress our speech, our religious freedom.”

The irony is that liberals who call for the suppression of speech and encourage violence and intolerance are actually the best messengers for conservatism, Limbaugh said, explaining, “I don’t want to get those people off the air. In fact, they’re a great advertisement for conservatism because they are so mean and intolerant.”

“I think MSNBC has done more for the conservative movement than Fox in all of its years,” Glenn said.
