Have you ever been eating an Oreo and thought adding Pop Rocks was a good idea? Probably not, but Oreo decided to go for it anyway.
Oreo recently released a limited-edition cookie called the “Firework Oreo” that is made with popping candy similar to the candy Pop Rocks. The novelty Oreos have been used in the company’s #MyOreoCreation contest, a promotional push to crowdsource the next crazy Oreo flavor.
Doc Thompson and Kris Cruz enjoyed the cookies this week on “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson,” although there was a problem: Doc was eating them too quickly to get the full effect of the popping candy.
“Can I try one?” Doc asked innocently.
“You’ve eaten half of the bag,” Kris countered.
Doc attempted to frame Brad Staggs by saying that “Brad was here” – but he left out an important part of the story because Brad hadn’t eaten any cookies.
Kris said he couldn’t eat any because two cookies would cost him 140 calories. Doc couldn’t believe his ears and tried to do the math for his two sleeves’ worth of Firework Oreos.
“Are you kidding me?” he asked. “I had 2,500 calories in Oreos today?”
To see more from Doc, visit his channel on TheBlaze and listen live to “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson” weekdays 6–9 a.m. ET, only on TheBlaze Radio Network.
