Here’s what we know about the London train attack

A makeshift bomb was left on a London commuter train this morning, injuring 22 people. The train car was engulfed in flames, and some of the passengers suffered burns.

Jason Buttrill joined Friday’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson” to analyze the incident, which has been identified as a terrorist attack by London authorities. He explained what we can know based on what happened.

  • The attack wasn’t as violent as it could have been because the "improvised" bomb didn't detonate at full force.
  • Based on the makeshift bomb and halfhearted approach, this was an “amateurish” attempt.
  • The terrorist was likely worried about their own safety, leaving the bomb behind on a train instead of putting it on the tracks. (Police are conducting a manhunt for the attacker.)
