London police have some pretty unhelpful advice in case of danger

Following the terrorist attack in London on Saturday night, city police tweeted some incredibly obvious advice about how people should respond when they are in danger.

“Run. Hide. Tell,” the infographic read. Because gun laws in the United Kingdom are extremely strict, running, hiding and calling the 999 emergency number are London residents’ best options. On Monday’s “Pat & Stu,” Doc Thompson, Kari Malinak and Kal Elsebai looked at the three-step plan from the Metropolitan Police.

“Run to a place of safety. This is a better option than to surrender or negotiate. If there’s nowhere to go then … hide. Turn your phone to silent and turn off vibrate. Barricade yourself in if you can. Tell the police by calling 999 when it is safe to do so,” the instructions said.

“That’s a pretty standard reaction, don’t you think?” Doc asked. “You wouldn’t need to actually tell people to do those things?”
