Matt Walsh: No matter how you feel about Confederate statues, you should oppose mob rule
August 18, 2017
My podcast today is about Confederate monuments, though, for this discussion, it doesn't matter how you personally feel about the statues.
I think the main point is that a mob of vandals must not be allowed to get their way. For the sake of the rule of law, even those who oppose the statues on principle ought to protest having them torn down now, under these circumstances. These are decisions that ought to be made thoughtfully and locally, not in the midst of this absurd national hysteria. That is the key point. And it's the argument we should be making.
