If all traces of the Confederacy are removed, which parts of American history will be erased next? On Monday’s “Pat & Stu,” the guys talked about how modern narratives have distorted U.S. history and asked if the Founding Fathers will next be purged from our culture.
A granite fountain in Helena, Montana, that commemorates Confederate soldiers will soon get a new plaque explaining its revised history as part of white supremacy. The proposed language on the sign will add context about the United Daughters of the Confederacy, who “openly supported the early Ku Klux Klan in its mission of white supremacy and worked to rewrite school textbooks to distort history by romanticizing the Old South.”
“Absolutely, in 30 years or less … there will be places all over America bringing down [memorials commemorating the founders],” Stu Burguiere agreed.
