President of Gays for Trump speaks out on being banned from Charlotte Pride Parade
June 09, 2017
Sometimes gay pride events aren’t actually about diversity. An LGBTQ group called DeplorablePride is being denied a spot in a pride parade specifically because of their right-leaning politics.
Charlotte Pride is barring the Gays for Pride chapter from participating in the Pride Parade this summer in Charlotte, N.C. “In the past, we have made similar decisions to decline participation from other organizations espousing anti-LGBTQ religious or public policy stances,” the board said in a statement.
Peter Boykin, president of Gays for Trump, joined “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson” to talk about the hypocrisy of a community that says it’s about diversity – as long as you fit exactly into their views. The gay community pretends they care about diversity, but they exclude anyone who disagrees with their politics, Boykin asserted.
The exclusion of DeplorablePride is not the only example of people being excluded based on conservative views. A pro-life feminist group was first listed as a sponsor and then excluded from the Women’s March on Washington in January. Liberal feminists including Jessica Valenti and Amanda Marcotte objected to the pro-life group’s inclusion at the time.
