Republicans demonstrate they are as bad as Democrats on health care

House Republicans are taking another crack at a health care compromise, but their solution would give special exemptions to members of Congress and their staff. They are under fire from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other Democrats for the plan.

On Wednesday’s “Pat & Stu,” the guys tackled the health care exemption and disparaged Republicans for pretending they still don’t have enough power to give Americans real solutions.

“Are they doing what we put them in office to do? Oh man … no, no, they’re not. And this is why we’re so disgusted with them," Pat Gray said. "This is why we don’t like Republicans either, frankly, because they’re essentially just as bad as Democrats in many, many cases."

He compared it to what Democrats did when they provided exemptions for themselves in the Obamacare legislation.

“We’ve got the majority, supposedly, of conservative or conservative-leaning people in office. We still have to settle for garbage. Why?” Pat wondered.

Stu Burguiere pointed out that compromises are necessary when you’re dealing with President Donald Trump. “I would clarify that we did not have to do this, but when Donald Trump is your nominee, you have to do this,” he noted, going on to add:

“If you can get rid of the taxes and you can get rid of the individual mandate, you can make some of these things a little better. … If you wanted a real free-market solution, you don’t pick the guy who said ‘I’m going to have the government pay for all of your health care.'”
