This Democrat politician says rich people have it harder than poor people
July 14, 2017
A politician asked his constituents, “Do you know it’s harder being rich than being poor?” Councilman Fernando Cabrera, a Democrat in New York’s 14 district , was caught on video Wednesday telling a crowd that rich people have more to worry about and more responsibilities than those who earn very little.
“It’s also harder being smart than it is being stupid,” Mike Opelka quipped on today’s “Pure Opelka.” He did agree with the Bronx man’s statement that people are paid because of their capacity, remarking, “Somebody finally understands the concept of capitalism.”
But he took issue with the rest of the 45 second diatribe. Cabrera, who is also a senior pastor at New Life Outreach International, said millionaires have the “ability to handle more pressure” and “more stuff to manage.” Mike felt his own mother, who had nine children at home, had quite a bit to manage without the benefit of being rich.
