Trump Jr.'s interview with Hannity goes exactly how you thought it would: 'He's his father's son

Donald Trump Jr. joined Fox News' Sean Hannity last night to discuss the Russia email revelation. This comes after the New York Times revealed that Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer in an attempt to collect dirt on Hillary Clinton during the 2016 Presidential campaign. Trump Jr. sent out a tweet yesterday explaining the pretext of the meeting and what transpired.

When asked about the debacle on "Hannity" Trump Jr. said he "probably would have done things a little differently" during the meeting with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, which took place at Trump Tower last June.

"This [was] pre-Russia fever. This [was] pre-Russia mania," Trump Jr. told Hannity. "I don’t think my sirens went [off] or my antenna went up at this time because it wasn’t the issue that it’s been made out to be over the last nine months, ten months."

For Trump Jr., it was "opposition research" and not collusion telling the Fox host, "I wouldn’t have even remembered it until you started scouring through this stuff. It was literally just a wasted 20 minutes, which was a shame."

Today on "Pat & Stu," the guys argued that Hannity wasn't hard enough on Trump Jr. who should have never taken the meeting with the Russian lawyer in the first place. The Russia cloud looms over Donald Trump's presidency, and it doesn't appear to be going away. President Donald Trump took to Twitter to defend Trump Jr., tweeting, "My son Donald did a good job last night. He was open, transparent and innocent. This is the greatest Witch Hunt in political history. Sad!”

The next day Trump shifted the focus on ethical standards for Democrats when he tweeted, "Why aren't the same standards placed on the Democrats. Look what Hillary Clinton may have gotten away with. Disgraceful!"
