UN Ambassador Nikki Haley condemns Russia and Syria following chemical weapons attack
April 05, 2017
One day after the horrific chemical weapons attack in Syria United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley addressed the United Nations Security Council, condemning inaction by the UN and Russia to address chemical weapons in Russia.
She also had a stinging rebuke for the Syrian and Iranian governments as part of her remarks:
"The truth is, Assad, Russia, and Iran, have no interest in peace. The illegitimate Syrian government led by a man with no conscience, has committed untold atrocities against his people for more than six years. Assad has made it clear that he doesn't want to take part in a meaningful political process."
Today on "Pure Opelka," Mike Opelka had his own words of condemnation for the attack as well as words of praise for Haley:
"I'm thrilled that we as a nation have this powerful and principled woman standing up for us and speaking on our behalf to the Security Council, to the United Nations, and demanding that something be done."
