FIRED: Houston hospital will dismiss employees who refuse the COVID vaccine
April 23, 2021
A hospital in Houston, TX will suspend or fire hospital workers who refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine on or by June 7.
In this clip, Pat Gray explained a new mandatory policy implemented at Houston Methodist Hospital requiring all hospital workers to be vaccinated by the set deadline or face dismissal. Currently, the hospital reported that 4 out of 5 Houston Methodist workers are vaccinated, and those who refuse the vaccine will face dismissal.
One hospital administrator said that getting vaccinated is a part of the sacred oath healthcare to do everything possible to keep patients safe and healthy.
Pat considered potential for backlash from employees who could sue the hospital because "a mandatory vaccination was not a condition of employment when employees were hired" [before March, 2020].
