‘Acted Like Thugs’: Turkish Officials Brawl With Security Guards at U.N.

Now this is slightly ironic. A fight at the headquarters of peace.

A brawl broke out between Turkish officials and U.N. security members last Thursday after a misunderstanding led to the Turkish diplomats being brought to the wrong area of the building. When U.N. security said the diplomats couldn’t enter, the Turkish security detail got violent. In fact, there are allegations that the Turkish security team even “elbowed” and “threw” female guards.

The New York Post explains:

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s security team members became aggressive after they were escorted to the wrong floor during Thursday’s session, sources tell us. After being told they couldn’t enter that area by UN security, they “pushed their way onto the floor, screaming, shoving and stomping on UN security,” witnesses said, as the group tried to push in to hear the debate over Palestine.

A female UN security officer was elbowed in her chest and suffered several bruises while a high-ranking uniformed officer was left with bruised ribs. “They acted like thugs,” said our source. “United Nations security isn’t allowed to use force, and the Turkish staff had diplomatic immunity.”

Another witness told us that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan — who made his first speech before the UN on Thursday, blasting Israel for “building new barriers to peace” — was also present, and one of his guards “picked up a female UN security officer and threw her across the room, before UN security “jumped on” the Turkish guard.

The post has video of the incident, which captured the chaos surrounding the incident:

The U.N. security officers were reportedly put on leave pending an investigation, but allowed to return once the union protested. U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon also apparently met with the Turkish ambassador to resolve the issue.

The UN is a group of enemies, and ungrateful nations that vote to hurt us in anyway possible. Why join such a club. We keep it afloat anyway. The UN has ideas and charters that in many ways, violate our own constitution. Get out of the UN.

More from the religion of peace. However, in this case the best way to handle the situation is to disband the UN and tell the turkish delegation that they are turkeys and that the turkeys can go home and stay in their own homeland. We don’t want them over here.

I hardly think that Turkey has any desire to reestablish the Ottoman Empire which it worked so hard to destroy. As to the Caliphate, that will be a struggle between Arabs and Persians, not Turks. Although the West dealt with the Caliphate up until 1924 without any special concern, a reestablished Caliphate does pose a grave threat in the political mix of today.

“or be disbanded completely as the old League of Nations before the start of WW2.”
Most historians point to this as a major factor in how WW2 started.
And lots of other comments just bring to mind: “Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.” Or around here ‘Those too full of derp to learn are doomed to blindly do what they are told.”
The UN has faults that need fixed sure; but think of all the Afghanistan like wars we would be wrapped up in if they were not around and if we had maintained the Worlds Police foreign policy like we did.

Erdogan is just another Islmosocialist/fascist. From licking the boots of Hitler and Nazi Germany to the present day it’s been nothing but a long term goal to raise back up the cesspool of the Ottoman Empire.

Not at all surprising the sudden shift ever since their 13th Iman came to power in the United States before they exposed themselves.

Turkey was the model of Western Islamic moderation. What’s left in the moderate Islamic States playbook? Indonesia? Just ask osme of the church goers there. Malaysia? Maybe Morrocco? that country has been on the fringe of the orthodox muslim world, Sunni or Shiite, for centuries.

It doesn’t look promising for the idea of Islam being able to adopt western values of freedom and toleration.

This is the war we face. Sooner or later the Muslims are coming, either peacefully through our undefended borders or violently in militant jihad. They have an historic path of religious/political conquest which they are obligated to accept as part of their faith.

Throughout the history of the UN diplomatic immunity has been the plea for everything from parking tickets, to spying and murder. My concern is that UN security is not allowed to do anything,(including protect themselves) why put them at risk? The fact these guards are women, in the day when the Islamists are becoming a pleurality of the UN is insane? Obviously the best we can do is throw the UN out of the US, and us out of the UN. (Which, I understand ACLJ is working with a Republican congressman to draw up legislation to this end.) We keep praying.

Agree all the way except the museum, we’d still be expected to finance the museum. I’d say make it “Gitmo North” but they probably have so many secret chambers and tunnels connecting to the NYC sewer system they could never be contained. Still, an interesting thought, when the Caliphate wars begin, we probably could diffuse it by simply revoking their diplomatic immunity and arresting about 79% (I’m being gracious) of diplomats and their staffs.
