‘Enough Is Enough’: Allen West Won’t Apologize to DNC Chair No Matter What the Black Caucus Says

On Tuesday The Blaze reported that, in an email to Debbie Wasserman Shultz and other congressional leaders, GOP Congressman Allen West slammed the DNC Chairwoman for being “the most vile, unprofessional and despicable” member of Congress.
The subject line of West’s email reportedly read: “Unprofessional and Inappropriate Sophomoric Behavior from Wasserman Schultz.”
Now, members of the Congressional Black Caucus are reportedly “furious” over West’s incendiary comments. According to a Fox News report on Wednesday, the head of the black caucus even plans to speak with West personally. And later in the day, several female lawmakers held a news conference calling on West to “apologize.”
“His words were nothing more than personal attacks,” Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., said, adding that she hopes House Speaker John Boehner “disavows” West’s remarks. She said it is “very ladylike to speak up for the values that you believe in.”
Rep. Donna Edwards, D-Md., also released a statement saying she was “shocked” by the “disgraceful” email. ”Instead of engaging constructively in that debate, Representative West chose to resort to unprofessional, vitriolic and offensive personal attacks — shame on him,” she said.
Democrats are also reportedly urging GOP House leaders to condemn West’s comments, though West allegedly told FN his fellow Republicans are just “fine” with his actions.
None of this can be too pleasing for Democrats, who might now feel threatened by the Florida Congressman. Apparently, House Democrats are already on campaign fundraising-mode, reportedly pitching donors to help raise $100,000 towards West’s defeat next fall.
But through it all West is sticking to his guns, telling FN:
“I think it’s important to stake my ground,” West told Fox News on Tuesday. “It was about enough is enough, and it’s my right to say that. She is the one elevating this.”
West also told FN that the 22 years he spent defending his country in the military does not warrant the type of “disrespect” he has suffered from Wasserman Schultz.
Responding to West’s email, a spokesman for Wasserman Schultz reportedly wrote:
“I don’t think that Congressman West is upset at the congresswoman, but rather with the fact that she highlighted that he and other Republicans are once again trying to balance the budget on the backs of seniors, children and the middle class. … The truth hurts.”
West, however, contends Wasserman Schultz’s comments demonstrate a “pattern” of “hate” with the Congresswoman.
“You don’t need to call me out on your time to speak on the floor,” West said. “Focus on what is your plan for the debt ceiling.”
The freshman Congressman also reportedly said that if people want to portray him as “the bad guy” in this debate then “so be it,“ but he will ”not allow“ anyone to ”take advantage” of him and the niceness he exhibits.
And paint West as the bad guy, some certainly will. Early on Wednesday The Blaze reported that Keith Olbermann accused West of “making a jack**s out of himself.”
So, were any of West’s comments egregious enough to warrant an apology to Wasserman Schultz? Or does anyone, regardless of title, have the right to defend themselves and speak frankly?

Allen West gave his opinion, then he left, not just “the floor”, he left the building. Where did he go? Why? Who knows, but he left the chamber. I guess he had more important business to attend to.
When her time comes Shultz says, “The gentleman from Florida, who represents thousands of Medicare beneficiaries, as do I, is supportive of this plan that would increase costs for Medicare beneficiaries.” That’s what she said, just that. Nothing more. That’s the comment in question. The House was debating a bill and she people covered by Medicare would have to may more with this bill. And that’s true. Come on people, that’s the POINT of the bill, for the government to less to Medicare recipients.
West’s response? That Shultz was “vile, unprofessional and despicable“ and ”not a lady.” He said she was picking a fight – one he’d be happy to engage in – by even mentioning that the bill reduced benefits for Medicare recipients.
He’ll apologize, mark my word, and least halfway. He lost his cool, cracked under the pressure of realizing his constituency, many of whom are retired, would realize he’s taking away their benefits, one‘s they’ve earned. He just lost his cool, like he did in the service.

Oversimplification of a chronic problem with Wasserman Schulz is not really helpful here. She is a nasty piece of work. She’s a demagogue and a progressive Marxist who is constantly on the attack. This is why she was chosen as DNC chair, just like her predecessor, the nutjob nasty Howard Dean. I guess she just doesn’t like it when the tables are turned on her. Boo hoo.
As far as Medicaid goes, Obamacare steals 500 billion dollars out of that entitlement right away but the Marxist reps like W-S continue to lie, lie, lie and deny, deny, deny. I think it’s getting pretty clear by now who is demagoging this whole debate and redirecting the constituents ire from where it should properly be placed; with the Marxists like Obama, W-S, Reid, Baucus, Pelosi and on and on.
An alpha-male like West who stands up for himself and the conservative values that made this country great is like a breath of fresh air. We’re tired of wimps like Boehner and RINOs like McCain. I’m sure the Marxists in Congress are crapping their pants about now that the Tea Party Caucus and real conservatives like Rubio, West, Paul and Bachman are nipping at their heels!

She did a nasty slam against West when he wasn’t able to defend himself at the moment. He didn’t spread it to the News Corp, he sent her a personal email and SHE spread it hoping to cause an uproar.

I did not know that when I have to wait in line for a half hour at the grocery store because the person in front of me brought up more items than there link card could pay is not doing anything wrong because they earned that money. I work 70 hours a week to put food on the table for my family and about another 10 leberal voting familys as well and I will tell you one thing I think Im the only one earning.
I always thought it would be hard to be anything but a conservative just becuase I have a brain cell but after seeing what I just typed it sure looks like those libs have it a lot easier than us. Thats the difference between a lib and a conservative. A conservative wants to go out and make his own money and a liberal wants me to pay taxes on that money so he can sit at home and do nothing and still be as well off as the conservative if not better off.

And you obviously think sending emails filled with hateful words is well representing his constituency. Sorry, I really don’t cherish name calling as an assertion of manhood, nor do most people.
Let’s not forget the facts. Schutz pointed out that West supported a bill that would take support away from his consituents. That’s a simple truth said politely, and yes, said while Allen West had left to take a break or whatever he was doing (funny how he think that leaving a room excludes a person from criticism, which he chose to to her do by email rather than to her face). Somehow, to West, politcal disagreement is “picking a fight.”
The guy lost his cool. Maybe they have a history? Who cares? Like that’s new in politics? He cracked under pressure, and this isn’t the first time. And most people, save those with blind allegiance to him realize that. Name calling doesn’t make a person sound smart, it makes them sound immature.

This is exactly the problem with selective news that tells you things the way you want to hear them and selective blogs that feed the angry mob. Also, I think we need to come to grips with the fact that close to half our fellow citizens have Wasserman’s mentality – the ends justifying the means, approach. I complain about this crap a lot, which I guess given the current state of affairs makes me the very definition of insane.

Shultz, whom I do not agree at all with, simply spoke her view on the floor, as Rep are paid to do. Mr. West should have been there to hear it, as he is paid to do. While her message was respectfully directed at Mr. West, the response was quite the contrary, full of name calling, insults and intimidation.
What happened to stand in Truth.
What happened to name calling, insults, and intimidation being tactics of rules for radicals.
Mr. West is in error here, even if Mrs. Shultz has the wrong message. Mr. West should learn to stand in Truth and not be tempted into distractions and made to look a fool.

Representative West hurts himself and will pridefully follow Anthony Wiener to an early political grave.
It is so interesting to see some of the same supporters of West, excoriate Rahm Emmanuel for being rude (to a reporter) on the next Blaze link! At least his security didn’t rough the reporter up, an act you also applauded yesterday.
It’s kind of like watching the fish in an aquarium following the beam of a laser pointer.

We should where these events like badges of honor showing that we have faced the enemy and beaten them on their own turf.
To be honest, I don’t think she is actually human, she probably eats her food live and whole and curls up to a warm rock to digest it. Funny how someone supposedly so educated would find it hard to understand principals honor, integrity and common curtesy or respect. She has none of these and most likely never will.
