‘You’re a Son of a Bit**!’ John Stossel Shouted Down by Angry Occupy Mob

Stossell Shouted Down in Occupy Wall Street

John Stossel has made his career in investigative journalism on the behalf of the consumer, and now hosts a show on Fox News Business where he often expresses his Libertarian point of view. Self-admittedly agreeing with certain frustrations towards Wall Street and the way they were treated during the financial crisis, Stossel did not expect the reaction he got when trying to speak to the crowd near Zuccotti Park.

As Stossel told Bill O’Reilly, he thought he would agree with the protesters on some things being that he is not thrilled with how some big banks have been treated. However, he was never able to get a word in during the  discussion with the angry mob who only wanted to shout him down.

Chanting “Shame on you,” and bellowing accusations of corruption and lies at Fox News, the footage shows that protesters would not respond to Stossell’s request for examples to back their wild claims.

“How am I corrupt,” asked Stossel to one foul-mouthed, young occupier.

“Your whole station is corrupt,” answered the protester.

Stossel was then only able to get off “how” before the mob drowned out the individual protester’s opinion that Stossel was a “puppet.”

“So you don’t know what their beef is” asked O’Reilly. ”They have a hundred beefs,” said Stossel. Watch it unfold below:

As you may recall, Stossel’s fellow Fox News colleague Geraldo Rivera was attacked by protesters when he traveled to Occupy Wall Street to hear the mob’s side of the story. At his appearance one protester chanted “fox, lier, set your self on fire,” before another threw white powder on Rivera.

Pointing to a New York Times estimate that there were only 6,000 protesters, Stossel made the point that there are really not too many of them considering that the Boy Scout Jamboree attracted 300,000.

      Exactly, anyone can buy that hat, uniform, medals and anything military in a surplus store, so many who you see out in the streets may be there just for the attention with little or no military. Guys will even make up stories like they had been there.

      Some Vietnam veterans still cannot talk about their time there, my husband who was on the front lines, only recently could talk a little about his horrific experience, outside the family.

      Look SPANKDAMONKEY the occupy movement is evil and full of darkness and even if they would let us join them (which they would not since they have made it clear they hate our guts) right does not mix with wrong. They want us to confront them and create a violent situations that make us look like the bad guys. The media would love your plan. Anybody who does this is just another useful idiot.

      They are just as ugly as the brownshirts of Hitlers Germany which enable him to gain more power and control over the whole country. I believe we are witnessing the same thing here but in slightly different form with the mass media being complicit, politicians, Hollywood elite and the like. Once they feel they have enough people on their side, it will not matter what we say, how we vote…nothing, they will nullify everything from our side and justify their grab for power. Its coming and soon. We will not see another fair election in this country. Our Constitutional way of life is coming to an abrupt conclusion. They will be OK with martial law if that means rounding up and shutting down the vioces of reason so they can continue to acheive their unhinged goals. All the while giving up their own freedoms in the exchange to get what they want. Free everything and no personal responsibility. Ah the sweet smell of total freedom…freedom from the banks and the pesky agreements they signed with regards to their mortgages and car loans, even credit cards. Freedom to be educated by the State, freedom to work or not work. Lovely.

      It’s not a matter of being afraid of anything. The tea party movement has proceeded peacefully ever since it began. Their goal is chaos and they want to use us to attain it soa they can blame us for it. Chaos will give them the opportunity to “fundamentally transform” our country into a type of socialist/communist hog pen. Our goal is to restore this country back to what it was intended to be and what made it the greatest nation on earth.

      excuse me Bill, How exactly is Taxing the Rich, or income taxing, period, different from Forced Redistribution of Wealth? Are you saying that income tax is voluntary? last i checked, if someone earned some money and didn’t give a % of that to the king, i mean the government, they are Forced to do so… and … Forcing another to purchace any goods or services is unconstitutional. it is your (personal) Right to do so on your own free will… Initiating force upon another is Never right. we are supposed to give to our federal government, on our own freewill, because of the great environment they provide for growth… if we don’t agree with what they are doing, we don’t give… that is how The People, have the ultimate power… That is how it was set up… it’s been perverted with income tax…

      NO SPANKDAMONKEY….the tea parties need to stay well away from these protests. OWS organizers Rathke and Lerner have made it clear they want the tea parties involved. An outbreak of conflict and the media would tear the tea parties apart. Or simply by being present the OWSers will use the Tea Parties to legitimize themselves. NO…THE TEA PARTIES SHOULD STAY WELL AWAY…You’ve never studied Napoleon SPANKDAMONKEY? “Never interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake”.

      I’ve noticed a lot of Viet Nam veterans are liberal. I’m a veteran, so don’t slam me. At that time, the draft was in effect, people didn’t just join out of patriotism. They were drafted. They didn’t necessarily WANT to serve their country, they just had enough courage not to run to Canada. My husband works with a liberal Viet Nam veteran. He even has the gall to say my husband isn’t a real veteran because he served from 1981-2001, not during Viet Nam.

      You are so right. My uncle was in Viet Nam, and he NEVER talked about it to me. He did my mom a little. He had to unload truck loads of agent orange, and ended up with cancer. It took him a couple years ago. I credit him with my salvation because we used to talk religion when I was a teenager and thought of myself as agnostic. He was a great Godly man.

      When I look at the photo of the guy with the Vet hat, he seems very familiar. Looks like the same guy at the Wis. Protests cussing the teen girl and other venues. Is it possible that he is a paid professional protester? Even a spontaneous organic movement like this one needs some dependable hater/shouters to keep the focus on the focus. Did I spell Focus right?
      It seems like it should have more letters and a space between the syllables. Oh well I didn’t go to college, couldn’t get the loan, thank God.

      You’re exactly right, and notive that when he’s asked to explain, he looks around for someone else to answer for him. That guy looks like he’s one of the oldest people there. He’s probably seeing all his high school buddies retiring and living good lives and realizing he made some really bad decisions in his own life and that he has turned out to be a real loser. Now he wants everyone else yo take care of him.

      There is really no clear message with these people. It is a collection of some true protesters against this and that, modern day hippies, homeless people and assorted misfits.

      The curser was more than likely a UNION MEMBER who was being paid to be there. In the union, gangland mentality reigns supreme. Bullying dissident members and coersion are the rule of the day. If these people can’t answer legitimate questions, they resort to cursing, throwing powders or liquids and when all else fails they shove, push and even beat down anyone who opposes them, rip their cameras away and act likt the thugs they are.

      Of course, Obama who trained for his political career in Chicago where many of these tactics were invented, approves of the demonstrations. Polosi (The Bird Brain of Alcatraz) is from San Fransissyco and is supported by Hippies therefore she approves.Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Jesse Jr. are all supported by far left, socialist and even communist groups and money, hence they also approve of OWS.

      They all have their hands out for Soro’s money and he is stupid enough to give it to them.

      Do you see them complaining against Soro’s Billions, Moore’s millions, Sarandon’s millions all made off of them when they buy tickets? Are these people willing to give away their fortunes to better the country? DON’T HOLD YOUR BREATH TILL THEY DO!

      Exactly. They claim to be protesting in order to bring attention to some mysterious causes. Yet when they get the attention, they hate that too. Everyone knows why, except for the naive utopian libertarians that think you can incorporate equal parts of democracy capitalism and anarchy into a healthy society.

      Liberatarian = liberals that are willing to temporarily suspend their belief in the centralized government run economy long enough for there to be an economy for the government to turn.

      Too many big talking gun owners puffing up their chests and suggesting some sort of ‘freedom fighter’ uprising.       I kind of agree with lel2007. If we‘re going to change this it probably won’t come throigh violence. We all need to be involved in the politics. We must remember the next election can’t simply be about just the president. It has to go all the way down to the local level in every community.Know your candidates……expose the lies…..NEVER vote for liars. It is easy to research the records of all those running. Then….go to work for them. We vastly outnimber the left. We need to use that power at the voting booth. Get involved with freedom works or someone that you can trust. Stay informed….stay connected…..call out all lies at all levels. Be relentless….be a force they have to deal with.

      Lee- so whats your solution? Sit on our butts and watch American Idol? I dont EVER promote any sort of violence. Educating ourselves, voting, and using the civilized social channels are always first. You said alot but gave no solutions or course of action. Every one of us is part of the problem, or part of the solution. Those who wimp out of activly making a choice make excuses, and turn a blind eye and then complain when they dont like the outcome.       We did a good job of taking back a lot of the country in 2010. That was only step one and they are scared to death of what is goign to drop in 2012. If we (TEA) don’t get off our arses similar to 2010 we deserve what we get. Look what we got sitting on our duffs in 2008. Want that for another 4 years? Then comes 2014 for more change. Remember, every two years we get to flush the house but it takes three two year cycles to flush the senate.

    Protesting to protest. They have no coherencey in there argument. I mean I am not happy with the state of affairs either. But at least when you ask me what I don’t like, I can give you a coherent list of beefs. All the OWS crowd does is yell with no sense of direction. I can yell a bunch of ugly rants at people too. But does it change anything? These people are the laughing stock of board rooms and committee meatings across the country. I wonder if they actually think that they are credible? I mean of course you have unions and socialists that love them. But even those folks have to see the ridiculousness of this current protest. They are protesting just to protest. And only a handful have direction. Come out of the park and seek some help. Fools leading bigger fools.

    I’ve been hearing for a couple of years now that “Fox Lies!!”. Whenever I ask what they lie about the response I always get is “They lie about everything!”. I then ask for one example and get nothing or I’ll get an answer that came from Jon Stewart or from a skit on SNL. When I point this out and press further, most people will admit they don’t even watch Fox News.

    The Liberal thought process is to shout down anything you either don‘t understand or can’t prove.

    These people are the reason businesses send jobs overseas, and aliens come here to work. We are out of competent people, and the incompetents do not perform well enough to get a job done.

      Joe was throwing the charge against a specific claim Obama was making.

      The key difference is that Wilson was a member of Congress, a body where a certain decorum is supposed to be observed. Stossel was talking to a mob on a street corner, where such outbursts are common coin.

    Specific hatred doesn’t last. Most people who hate something specifically find the absurdity of hatred and leave for better areas in life and in their outlook. What we see here is blind, vague hatred. They hate what they have been told to hate. It’s contempt, prior to investigation.

      I agree with GhostofJefferson that your observation was outstanding. Unfortunately it seems to me to be equally applicable to many Blaze posters whose responses to anyone they disagree with, are incredibly vitriolic.
      As a Ron Paul supporter on the Blaze I have been called many different pejorative names and accused of being a drug abuser when in fact, I have never used any illegal substance or even alcohol. A click on my user name will show that my posts are almost always very civil and I don’t call anyone names.
      When I see people like those protesters acting like that it doesn’t surprise me, but I expected better from people on the Blaze. Of course this doesn’t apply to all Blaze posters. Many are respectful and rational but there are some who amazingly claim to be conservatives and Christians, but are seething with hatred (for both liberals and libertarians).
      I have learned that the paleo-libertarians (like Ron Paul) are actually the real conservatives, and the best bet to restore the republic.

      Some of you have even uncovered some Foxlies, plus, there are websites “the top ten foxlies” the top 25 foxlies.” But let’s play, they consistently ignore, and last year at CPAC skewed, Ron Paul numbers, climate-gate was ginned up then debunked , the whole birther stuff, remember the “terrorist fist-bump,” consistently lying about the hc bill (can’t choose your own dr., dr’s are poorly paid, “gov’t sponsored healthcare,” & “Medicare board wld lead to healthcare rationing” Andrea Tantaros on F&F) remember fema camps, death panels, 50% of country “pays no taxes,” one after another on F&F (Jon Stewart catches these alot,) like Doocy comparing oil subsidies with NPR subsidies when oil subsidies are 11x more, Asman on “Forbes on Fox” (4/20/12) saying that taxcuts increase gov’t revenue, Muslims want to spread Sharia Law to the U.S., skewed poll numbers (like just switching the numbers in the ScottWalker poll in Feb…) Fox is a political action committee that has none of the constraints of a PAC.
      And yes, I’ve read the “MSNBC lies” at the websites too, but to say that there are no foxlies, is just not true.
      btw, in 2003, FL CtofAppeals “agreed with Fox News that it is not illegal to distort or falsify the news in the United States.” just sayin :^)

    When you’re shouting down speakers who may agree with some of the points of a given protest, it tells me that you’re not actually there interested in the complaints or the goals of a given protest, rather you simply with to cause chaos and be disruptive.

    Let them stew in their own hate I say. Stop trying to talk to them or deal with them, let them protest to the winds and seas and nary another sould pay them heed, is my advice.

    They are much smaller than is being shown, and are not the “big deal’ that the media, pro or con, is letting on. Most of the “occupy” movements in Ohio have tens of people showing up for there, whereas tea party events routinely showed 5000+ people on the statehouse lawn. Some movement they have, these “occupy” folks.

    Don’t get me wrong, I’m with Stossel, there was a lot of corruption in how the government and banks colluded and stole our money. That doesn’t mean we have to associate with hate filled troublemakers though.

    I have to say lately I find myself very sad, the once great beacon of light to the rest of the world, the yes we can do it, has become a socialist want to be, run by a liar.

    As socialist countries go we are not even a good example, kind of Mickey Mouse socialism. The poor excuse for a leader has turned the government over to burned out 1960’s radicals who wish they had more power and scheme every day to get it.

    The electorate is fast asleep, I live in a city where the welfare state started 134 years ago and they are still trying to make it work. I often joke if the IQ of the city was added up and divided by the number of the population the result would be a negative number.

    I am watching the government chasing the rich around with pitch forks and declaring to the poor these people are why you are too stupid to tie your shoes.

    I am not the sharpest pencil in the pack, but I can see the future from the present, there is a lot of carnage coming.

    I worked hard all my life and did not want to have this happen on my watch, I am prepared however not happy about having to be.

    I know stop whining, one question where did my country go?

      Your country, if you believe in traditional American values, disappeared long before you were born, at least from the 1920′s forward. It just took a while for it to catch up to us non-city folk.

      Our nation sold out a long time ago. You see it everytime you see a nice, gentle old person screaming about wanting their socialist entitlements that “they paid for” after having exceeded the amount they “paid” tenfold. You see it when you see otherwise conservative folk scream for medicare or medicaid or social security. You see it when you see people quivering in their boots at every single “terror threat” instead of standing up proudly with their middle finger in the air at the government trying to scare them. You see it when you pay your taxes and realize you pay more now than any other serf did in the middle ages. You see it when you walk outside a building and watch Americans shivering in the cold like her animals and lighting up because government told them to.

      Welcome to the real America.

      Very astute summation of modern urban America. Lucky I live in the U.P. of Michigan where Most men are still men, work with their hands, and an agreement is sealed with a handshake. We run into some city folks who move up here and try to bring their big city immoral behavior but usually get squashed pretty quick. We replaced our Socialist Governor (Granholm) with a Conservative and our stupid Congressman (Stupak) with a Tea Party member. We are moving in the right direction despite all the losers in Detroit. Obama has awakened a sleeping giant here and we are not going back to sleep.

      I believe the country as founded was lost long ago,when government supplants the role of parents,one man one woman,we have the breakdown of family and is replaced with government,something communists use to control the populace.We have government telling us what to eat,that we have to buy government health insurance ultimately,and endless taxes and regulations.

      The only thing the Marxist in chief says that isn‘t a lie is his ’fundamental transformation of America’.
      This man and the ideology he espouses is antithetical to the constitution and bill of rights,he has a disdain for America as founded and is determined to end capitalism,he’s going by the numbers in his play book Rules for Radicals,the idea of class warfare and vilify the rich.This pie in the sky idea of making everyone equal is BS,it isn’t governments role to make everyone equal.
      Progressives have been assaulting the constitution for over a century and we’re playing catch up,I think we’ve gone down the road too long and the country has changed over time,I think it may be too late to save the republic.
      We won’t go down without a fight though,that would dishonor every man who died for this great country and that’s not going to happen.
