Before “Nakba Day” officially begins on May 15, roughly 1,000 people gathered outside Tel Aviv University today to mark the occasion.

For those unfamiliar with the term– “nakba” means “catastrophe” in Arabic, and often refers to the day in which the state of Israel was re-created in 1948.

The Jerusalem Post reports:

The crowd was more or less split between those attending the memorial and a particularly raucous crowd of counter-demonstrators waving Israeli flags, singing the national anthem, honking horns, and occasionally chanting “Havenu Nakba Alechem” (we brought a Nakba upon you).

Police arrested two people at the event.

The counter-protesters, according to the Post, said:

MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) said he and others came to protest against the memorial event to “restore a bit of sanity” to the Israeli public. Ben-Ari added that there is no reason for Israelis to listen to the Palestinian narrative about the Nakba, because “it’s not a narrative, it’s a lie. What if they’d won the war? We’d have had another Holocaust here.”

Another counter-protestor, Bar-Ilan University student Lilach Aviv, 25, held up a sign that read “Israeli Arabs say no to the Nakba,” and said those attending the memorial “should do this in Ramallah or Gaza. Instead they exploit our democracy to spit in our faces.”

Anti-Israel activists, like those from the BDS (Boycott Divestment Sanctions) Movement, claim Israel is an apartheid state that violates international law and Palestinian rights.

Israeli universities, they say, “are complicit in maintaining the Israeli occupation and denial of basic Palestinian rights, whether through their silence, actual involvement in justifying, whitewashing or otherwise deliberately diverting attention from Israel’s violations of international law and human rights, or indeed through their direct collaboration with state agencies in the design and commission of these violations. Accordingly, these institutions, all their activities, and all the events they sponsor or support must be boycotted.”

But does an apartheid nation intent on stripping the rights of Arabs let close to a thousand protesters bash the state’s very existence outside one of its largest universities?

Yes remember that the nation of Israel was created against the wishes of most of the people who lived there. It was indeed a catastrophe to the people who belonged to the land a lot more than a jewish person who grew up in Europe. Many of the Arabs had family farms there for centuries and could not return to them as they were given to the settlers. All based on the fact that there was an ancient Kingdom, and some Hebrew myths of God giving them the land. I guess some people will believe anything if it’s written in a book. In fact the bible says that the Hebrews slaughtered the original inhabitants and stolen their land in the first place which makes the claim of their descendants even less legitimate. It would be like turning a US state into a Native nation against the will of the non native majority.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will reward these people for their efforts. “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you” (Gen 12:3)

Israel was there long before these Muslim people. Long, Long before mohammid came along. So how is it Israel was created rather than returned. Same people who think America somehow was part of Mexico at some point. Mexicans fought right along with the rest of the settlers to get out from under Mexico. They still do..

Looks like most of the demonstrators probably don’t even have parents that were alive in 1948. It must be terrible to be so angry about something that you weren’t alive to be offended by.

This is utterly disgusting. Only the mind of the demented liberal could come up with this insult to the thousands of Jews who gave their lives to make Israel a reality.

These people will rot in hell – the sooner the better.

As we can see useful idiots are there and here…The Arab propaganda, continues as when they were the Nazi Hitler partners…so the anti Israel, anti semitic propaganda works well for many ignoring the real history and facts. While billions are sending toward Islamic countries who hate America and Muslim Brotherhood taking high positions inside government. Those been distracted by the anti Israel at stupidity marketing should be given for free as gift to Gaza…or Ramallah…or Yemen… or Egypt… or Saudi Arab… or Libya…or Syria… or Tunisia…or Algeria…or Sudan…or Kenya…or Somalia, or D.R.Congo…or… There, they are going to learn what apartheid and persecution is… The world should celebrate the great joy of the modern Israel living in her Ancient land of Palestine as they were before Romans changed their Kingdom’s name…. which by the way is as always was the Jewish State…

God created Israel. These fools do not know what true mourning is. They will find out the day they face the true creator of Israel. I can just hear them whining on that day “I did not know I believed what my professor told me”. Sad for them is the fact their professor will not be between them and their creator, they will stand before God alone with no defense.

Regarding Ishmael and his bloodline: “He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers. ” Genesis 16:12

Regarding the rebirth of Israel: “This is what the Lord Almighty says: “I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west. I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God. ” Zechariah 8:7

Regarding Jerusalem: “I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.” Zechariah 12:3

Gee it took less than 1 minute to find out this is a Soros funded group.
Who would have think it? :)

“The Jewish Agency (MAKOM) and the JCC in Manhattan should not be utilized as a sponsor or a gathering place for those who work to delegitimize Israel,” Allen continued. “NGO-Monitor has proven that, for some time now, the New Israel Fund has directly funded groups that support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel. J Street, the George Soros-funded group, has also partnered with efforts to further the insidious BDS movement.

This sort of dispells alot of the myths about how bad Israel is. If Israel took part in aparthied as many liers like to say, then this event would never happen. What other country in the Middle East would allow such a thing. If anything, in my opinion, Israel is too lenient with people who call for their destruction and spread propoganda about them.
