Nude Photo Shoot at the Dead Sea 1,000 Israelis Participate

(The Blaze/AP) About 1,000 Israelis have bared it all in a mass nude photo shoot at the Dead Sea. The volunteers stripped down Saturday for photographer Spencer Tunick, who has gained fame for his nude group photos in public spaces around the world.

Tunick chose the Dead Sea for his latest project to deliver an environmental message highlighting the plight of the world’s lowest and saltiest body of water. The fabled salty lake is dropping nearly 4 feet a year.

The Dead Sea is linked to the sites of the biblical Sodom and Gomorra, and one conservative Israeli lawmaker compared the photo shoot to that ancient debauchery.

But the 43-year-old Tunick has praised Israel as the only country in the Middle East with the freedom for one of his trademark nude shoots.

    Reminds me of the story by Hans Christian Andersen……..The Emperor’s new clothes. Only in this case it’s a bunch of folks that know they have no clothes, willingly disrobe, and think that they are a part of something important, profound and noble.
    Instead they look like a bunch of mindless, plucked, chickens.

      So called christians? First of all who are you to question ANYONE’S real intent of their heart? Are you saved? Do you have to PROVE your salvation to anyone? Probably not! Second, don‘t you realize that there are LOTS of people in this world that don’t follow the supposed path of their religion or race? For you to assume that all Israeli’s follow the same God or religion is strictly stereotyping on YOUR part! They may do as they wish, just as we do in America, even though we may not agree with the paths they took.

      To OHMY: My first inclination is to feel as you do — surprised and disappointed.

      Then I remind myself of all those people living in the United States who call themselves Americans, but act immaturely, with vengeance, and with shaking fists to denigrate our Republic, our foundation of capitalism, the Constitution, our Flag, and our God. Americans …. such as politicians, immigrants like George Soros, media, the Black Panthers, radical Islamists/Muslims, the entertainment industry, the Black Congressional Caucus, and even NYC Mayor Bloomberg who, today, practically encouraged Americans to riot because of unemployment.

      We must remember that our conservative counterparts in Israel face the same situation. Their immature, vengeful citizens strip naked at the Dead Sea. They demonstrate in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv all the time, shaking their fists against fellow-citizens who love Israel and God.

      This has been going on in the Middle East, the United States, and the rest of the world since at least the time when history began to be recorded. All we can do is pray, because here in the U.S., we can no longer depend on Congress or the President.

      Lord, come quickly.

      They do a lot of important research that benefits us, and most of the aid is in the form of military equipment sold to them, sort of a transfer. I don’t know all the specifics but in any case, due to the Islam problem (which you may not have noticed, but try to recall something you may have heard about in the news, 9/11) we need to support Israel 100%, and really we should have been supporting them even if we weren’t directly attacked, they are an outpost in that part of the world to help in our defense against Islam. If we allowed the Muslims to go ahead and just kill all the Jews as Muhammad started in Arabia and the Koran calls for, then the Muslims would be emboldened and the Jihad would be doubled against the West, especially America, as they would see their killing of the Jews as a sign from Allah that they are doing the right thing. It is evil, it is twisted, but it is Islam. Israel is a shining jewel in the middle of a cesspool of Islamic degradation and destroyed civilizations. Instead of us wasting billions of dollars trying to democratize countries that are already fallen to Islam and therefore can not be democratized, Islam and democracy are not compatible and cannot coexist, we should continue supporting Israel and other non-Islamic countries to defend all of us from Islam.

      Zog, what makes you think they are all (or any) Jews? Are you ignorant of the fact that different religions may be found in Israel, not just Judaism? Israelis may be Jewish, or Hindu, or (gasp!) even Muslim (among other faiths, maybe even atheist!).
