16-Year-Old Conservative Girl Details Death Threats After Posting Gay Marriage YouTube Video

Madeleine McAulay, a sixteen-year-old Christian conservative from North Carolina, is speaking out today after receiving a litany of death threats and vile responses for publicly espousing her views on gay marriage.
(Related: Fake Explicit Image of S.E. Cupp Reportedly Appears in Hustler)
After North Carolina voted to define marriage as being between a man and a woman, McAulay made a YouTube video in which she lamented the left trying to make it a “fresh” political issue, where she noted that it is actually the 31st state to do so.
She continued:
I’m not going to lie. I was a bit shocked to hear how [Obama] came to his conclusion for his support of gay marriage.
His daughters?
That’s right, the president of the United States now looks to his young daughters to make major decisions– and what I don’t understand is that the president is being praised for listening to his young daughters and yet I, a sixteen-year-old, when I speak my mind I’m ridiculed by the left.
This makes no sense.
So let me just get this straight. If I‘m young and I give into the left’s agenda, I’m praised, but I‘m young and I’m conservative, I’m evil? Hm.
Now I want to be clear. I don’t hate gay people, so stop trying to say that I do. I simply believe that traditional marriage is the most productive way, and the Biblical way, to pursue a relationship…
Watch the entire clip, below:
McAulay soon wrote another article on the nature of the responses she received, saying, “Typically I would never post vulgarity on my blog, but the true colors of the Left need to be shown, especially considering this time it was directed at a minor. So, here we go.”
Here are some of the responses (Content warning):
“Hey, you really seem like one stupid c*nt. That being said, I’d still let you wrap yours lips around my c*ck.”
“This b*tch is Psycho!”
“A hate mongering bigot, she probably supports modern day slavery as well.”
“The Palin legacy, people…..*sigh*”
“She’s bats*it crazy!!”
“Hey I just met you and you are crazy, so here’s a gun…please take off the safety”
Her video and the responses even attracted the attention of Fox News, where she was interviewed by Steve Doocy this morning:
“The hatred and the vile, vulgar, disgusting comments started coming in and over the past few days they have gotten totally extreme and completely inappropriate,” McAulay said.
Doocy was inclined to agree, saying, “Well they are inappropriate, and I was looking at your website last night and there were some death threats there.”
The two proceeded to talk about the young girl’s future, which she says includes a book she was already writing on competition. She also hopes to someday work in media or, perhaps, run for office.

If State Legislators can punish people for doing these thing, then why should homosexuals be off the hook ?

Posted on May 23, 2012 at 5:41pmWhile your idea is deliciously facist, the bigger issue is that no matter how high you made the fine it would never gather much revenue. Gays (no matter how many times they try to make themselves seem like a larger section of the public), only make up 3%. Not to mention most studies show they make less than the national avg so the fine couldn’t be that big…plus you have to leave them money for KY and glitter

I’m proud of any teenager who speaks up. You may despise the one and applaud the other. But I think they’re both awesome.
Bryan B says, “The clear way to deal with the Homosexual issue, Is to make Homosexuality illegal.
I don’t mean putting homosexuals in jail. Rather writing them Tickets and Fining them.”
Great point Bryan B! And while we’re at it, let’s also ticket fornicators, which is also a sin. I‘m sure you’ve never had sex outside of marriage, or sex at all, so you wouldn’t get a ticket. But the reason I’m so in favor of your idea is that if we assessed a fine for sex outside of marriage, the US would have a balanced budget. Actually a surplus and we could probably pay for another war!
The other cool thing, from a Republican perspective, is that it would get government into the private lives of citizens and into their bedrooms, and it would allow the US government to legislate morality. The US government wouldn‘t be legislating everyone’s morality, but your morality and that of some people who agree with you.
Wait, that doesn’t make sense, you’re a troll right? Dang, and I fell for it! My bad.

You stated, “I guess she’s learning how that teen who got the 10 Commandments removed from her school [felt], with the death threats and all. You know, the girl this website likes to show every so often so you can post hateful things about her?”
At first I thought, JZS does have a point. So I looked up the last article on Jessica Ahlquist and perused the comments. There were 777 so I limited it to just around the first 200 (for time’s sake) and found only a few using any rude or objectionable language (I counted three, but I may have missed something buried within a long passage). There were actually quite a few defending Ahlquist.
I am not so naive that I don’t believe some Blaze commentors made crude remarks about her (I have been alarmed at some of the posts I have seen here from time to time) but I was relieved to find that I didn’t find the venom and hatred that you described (and that I thought might exist).
I think you might be guilty of stereotyping Blaze commentors. In another of your posts on ‘THIS IS FOR YOU, WHITE B–CH’: WOMAN ALLEGEDLY ATTACKED WHILE ORDERING LUNCH AT COLO. MCDONALD’S, you say, “This website selectively picks out stories of scary black people behaving badly.” Yet just the other day I read an article SAFEWAY EMPLOYEE’S SUSPENSION FOR DEFENDING PREGNANT WOMAN DRAWS NATIONWIDE PROTESTS where the hero of the story is, in your words, a “scary black man.” This would seem to contradict your assertion.

Every argument about how evil blacks are (or Muslims or whomever else, right now the theme here seems to be bad blacks) is based on overgeneralization. So good post and I‘m sure you’ll bring it up again the next time somebody posts that all Muslims are out to get you.
Actually, my argument was reductio ad absurdum. My other point was the hypocrisy of the right saying they want government out of our lives while seeming to want government into our bedrooms and standing right between a doctor and their patient.
Nelbert, I like your method and believe your results. I’ll give that one to you, but with one reservation. You say you looked at the last article about that girl. I bet if you looked at the first one, your results would be different. But, in any case, good work and point for you.

If you looked up logical fallacies on Wiki, well that’s better than nothing. I wish I could believe you were taking a class in logic at your local junior college but that’s too much to hope for. And clearly you’re not.
Anyway, to the point, you like the idea of the police issuing tickets for sexual behavior? Yes or no? Should the fines for homosexuality be different than the the other Biblical injunctions, such as fornification or adultery? How much should Newt Gingrich be fined? Personally I don’t want the government trying to regulate sexual behavior between consenting adults, but if you do, just say so! Why be coy about your opinion? Afraid to say it here?

All liberalism has to offer is organized stealing; if they want something and someone else has it, take it. Apparently she missed that if you’re 16 and go against Christian prayer in public schools, you also get death threats; it’s most definitely not a one-side-or-the-other phenomenom. The result is clear – there are vile people EVERYWHERE, and if you take a stand on issues people feel passionately about, the crazies come out of the woodwork.
This girl does not deserve the hate she’s received, and the threats should be looked into, the threateners arrested. I hope people soon leave her alone and repent for their horrible words.

Posted on May 24, 2012 at 1:34amI‘ve never heard of anybody threatening anybody because they’re against prayer in public schools, unless you include that idiot “Pastor” who spoke of rounding up gays and locking them behind an electric fence. Were you referring to Jessica Alquist? Those were despicable as well (especially considering that one said something about “rape”). I would never condone or endorse that type of behavior or language.
Here, it might be a good idea to point out that every time someone gets criticism, there’s going to be a few… let’s call them “false flags.” I cannot look into a man’s heart or mind, so I can never tell who’s who, but I can definitely find people in every case who say things that do not represent the majority of Christians (like the aforementioned “Pastor”) and they especially don’t represent me. For example, you already know of what responses Alquist received, Madeliene McAulay received a “supporting” response under the name of “BREITBARTISHERETOO” who pretty much echoed the “Pastor” that I just mentioned (saying that “****-lovers“ should be ”rounded up” and trapped behind an electric fence).

“very simple question for you…when did anyone recieve death threats for not supporting public prayer in school?”
You must either be brand-new to the site, or lacking any sort of long-term memory… we’ve only had, what, 6? 7? topics on Jessica Ahlquist here on theblaze?
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/teen-atheist-behind-prayer-mural-ban-threatened-with-rape-we-will-get-you-look-out/
In every single one of them, we’ve had comments from posters supporting violence against her, and many of the articles contain links to some of the hundreds of threats she’s received. Most people act this way because they perceived her lawsuit to remove a prayer mural in a public school as an attack on Christian prayer… even though the courts completely agreed that a prayer mural in a public school represented an endorsement of religion and was unconstitutional.
I’ll say the same thing here that I said in all of those articles: there’s no excuse to threaten or bully a 16-year old girl for stating her views, whether those views are on the correct use of the Constitution or in support of heterosexual-only marriage.

Posted on May 24, 2012 at 8:47amnope, not new here LOCKED…and I went back through that thread, read about half the posts, and NOT ONE was a threat to her. Not to mention that “receiving death threats” is just that…RECEIVING! Someone somewhere on a far off blog lamenting the fact that that little girl is a sad pawn in the liberal game is not nearly the same as going onto this girls OWN site and threatening her life. I guess you also don’t make any distinction to the fact that one girl was merely expressing her opinion (which happens to be the opinion on a solid MAJORITY in this country) and the other girl TOOK AWAY something that did her no harm what-so-ever, she just wanted to HURT OTHERS! Period. Just like all the other atheist cries of “foul” that little girl has a mean spirit and degenerate parents that would “preach” to her the kind of intolerance of Christians that would make someone go out of their way to get a completely non-offensive Christian display (that a VERY VERY LARGE MAJORITY of this country strongly APPROVES of). The girl in THIS article even went out of her way to say she loves gay people and wishes them the best, they are just sinners like the rest of us…you people are pathetic if you think the two situations even compare…
so, can you show any ACTUAL THREATS to anyone who simply expressed their point of view in opposition to school prayer? I know you can’t, but I will wait for another condescending reply that doesn’t even make sense nor is it accurate

And there were no threats on Madeleine’s blog either (I went and looked yesterday). You missed the fact that Ahlquist also has a blog, and that’s where some of the threats came from. The rest were sent to her house, posted on websites, or on Twitter/facebook.
“I guess you also don’t make any distinction to the fact that one girl was merely expressing her opinion (which happens to be the opinion on a solid MAJORITY in this country) and the other girl TOOK AWAY something that did her no harm what-so-ever, she just wanted to HURT OTHERS!”
That’s one incredibly biased of putting it. Or we could put it how the courts did: the school was in the wrong and it was unconstitutional to have an endorsement of Christianity in a public school. I’d argue both girls were right (or at least accurate) in their stated views: Ahlquist was right in that the school was violating the Constitution, and McAulay was right in that NC is not the only state banning both gay marriages and civil unions.
While I agree Ahlquist is a busybody, I’m also honest enough to point out that the school was in the wrong and she was right.

You do realize that whether or not something is popular has no bearing on whether or not it is Constitutional, right? If the majority of the country believed that every school should have a Christian prayer mural in it, the courts would still say it’s an establishment of religion and unconstitutional.
“The girl in THIS article even went out of her way to say she loves gay people and wishes them the best, they are just sinners like the rest of us…”
This is blatantly false, unless she restated such in a different video than the one posted here. Her only words about gays directly were “I don’t hate them, so s-stop trying to say I do.”

I‘ll admit that I didn’t actually watch her video until now, although I did read her blog yesterday. Now I find myself actually sitting back and going “Hmmm…”
“Marriage isn’t just some right! It’s making a covenant with God… I want to live my life according to God’s holy scripture and I want America to also.”
If you read that last line, you can read it two ways. If you’re a leftist, you might say “This girl wants a theocracy. She says it right there: she wants America to live according to what she thinks is God’s will!” I, on the other hand, look at it and give her the benefit of the doubt. “She’s 16; hopefully her views will grow along with her, and she’ll realize that while America might be exceptional, that doesn‘t mean we should push one religion’s views on all people – even if they happen to be our views.”
Obviously it doesn‘t justify the hatred she’s gotten, but (like Ahlquist), her words show her inexperience. While she calls herself a conservative, pushing one religious view on others through the government is not a conservative principle. Note: NC passing an amendment to their state Constitution is not an example of that; that’s the correct process to follow. But when it comes to other issues (for example, endorsing religion in school or on government land), her views of pushing religion on America are blatantly unconstitutional.

“so, can you show any ACTUAL THREATS to anyone who simply expressed their point of view in opposition to school prayer? I know you can’t, but I will wait for another condescending reply that doesn’t even make sense nor is it accurate”
You mean like how Ahlquist has needed a police escort because of the threats? How the police said they will call in for questioning those who were making threats (many of whom are in her own school)? How her family had to change their phone numbers because they were receiving so many threats every day? How she briefly stopped attending classes because of all the harassment? The proud bragging of fellow students who publicly shunned her, cat-called her in class, or told her off in the halls?
I can’t imagine you looked through any of the links from the articles about this girl if you missed all that.

Posted on May 24, 2012 at 9:51amLOCKED…from what I understand, she removed most of the threats and the like because she didn’t want all that on her page. I do not, like you, condone threats of any kind against a child or really against anyone just speaking their mind. I would argue that the courts claiming this type of thing unconstitutional is, in and of itself, unconstitutional. Activist judges have been tearing the const to shreds for decades and the whole, imaginary, “sep of church and state” thing is one such example. The point is that there is NO WAY Alquist was actually offended by the mural. It did not make her feel unwelcome or any of that nonsense. It was merely a political ploy by her militant family and the overal viamently anti-christian, militant atheist community.
maybe Im just numb to any lefties calls of “death threats” or discrimination because they have cried wolf (remember the story on the Blaze about the gays that “threatened” themselves by painting hate speech on their own garage)…who knows

Posted on May 24, 2012 at 1:09pmMAJ, are YOU senile? LOCKED and I have been talking about Alquist this whole time…
LOCKED, I do not know what the Alquist family calls “threats”, so I have no idea why they changed #s and all that. I did not look at any links on the Blaze article just the posts (as you suggested the thread itself contained threats). I do believe (while threats are totally inappropriate) that the kids in her school not only have the right to shun her and show their disapproval of her, but I COMMEND them for it!! (again, as long as they weren’t threats of violence) The constitution stops the government from messing with peoples religious views, but the people are allowed to shun/ostracized/redicule those they find a detriment to society.
In the end, I would love for us all to be able to “just get along” but the left is so completely dishonest about everything, and so completely intolerant of anything Christian…they have turned this into a war and I guess sometimes even I get caught up in the emotion of it instead of just sticking to Christian principles and knowing that we win in the end no matter what they do. I just wish my children could have had the chance to grow up in the TRUE America. Where they prayed/said the pledge everyday in school, God was a huge part of our political system, America saw the left/socialism for what it is, homosexuality was to be shunned and NEVER accepted as anything but an abomination (just like having sex with animals, ect)…just wishful t

We’ve been talking about her since then, and I believe @Usedczar‘s words were that he didn’t believe they were actually threats? Or that Ahlquist‘s were not as as McAulay’s? Not sure if I have that wrong. Either way, he didn‘t seem to realize that Ahlquist’s threats came on her blog, to her house, through phone calls, in person, and on facebook/twitter.
@Usedczar
“I do not know what the Alquist family calls “threats”, so I have no idea why they changed #s and all that.”
An example of such threats might be the hand-written letter delivered to her house that threatened to kidnap and rape her (and harm her father and younger sister as well). Qualifies as a threat, yes?
“I did not look at any links on the Blaze article just the posts (as you suggested the thread itself contained threats).”
Here’s one in the VERY FIRST RESPONSE:
Mil-dot:
“I don’t care what happens to her. I am sick of these atheists tell the rest of us what is right and what is wrong. GET HER. You reap what you sow.”
Emphasis mine. As a Christian, there’s no way to see someone cheering on an attack and rape and think “Yeah, Christ is cool with that.”
“I do believe (while threats are totally inappropriate) that the kids in her school not only have the right to shun her and show their disapproval of her, but I COMMEND them for it!!”
I had this argument with someone else in the other thread. Summary: “Then there is not way to call yourself a Christian.

Some other pieces you must have missed in the thread that was linked:
Stephenmarkovich:
“Christians are commanded (yes, commanded) to use self defense even deadly self defense against an aggressor. In this case, this woman IS an aggressor and her attackers, to a certain degree, could be justified.
Her fate would serve as a warning to others who wish to trample God’s name and works.”
Johnjamison:
“I would turn the screws till she cried everyday she had to go to that school and every night when she went home.”
Those were just some of the ones I responded to. As for the other threats, here are photographs of some that appeared online. http://jesusfetusfajitafishsticks.blogspot.com/2012/01/ahlquist-screenshots-if-by-christian.html
Finally, as for shunning, I can understand that. By all reports they’ve gone further, to the point where police questioned some of the kids who made threats against her in school (and were dumb enough to use their actual names or facebook accounts to do so). Other students, as I said before, have accosted her and harassed her; that’s far beyond shunning.

I don‘t want to quibble about the stuff that doesn’t really matter, but none of those Blaze posts were threats. I guess we view that word differently, but I was thinking more along the lines of “I’m GOING to kill you”. (obviously a letter talking about rape is also a threat and that person should be charged, but that was from a Blaze poster…I don’t think) At worst you were showing examples of people justifing the bullying. I will say that Christians are not and never have been, commanded to commit violence because someone has a contrary opinion. That’s what mooslims do and the guy that wrote that is a moron.
As far as me not being able to call myself Christian because I commend the kids at school for shunning her, the bible states many different times that if you cannot convince someone to do that right thing or if they persist in their sin, then you MUST get them away from you/cut them out of your life/have no association with them. Pretty sure following the bible is the part of being a Christian.

I suppose I can see your point. I guess when someone says “I’m going to beat her up“ and someone else goes ”Yeah, go for it!“ or ”I would do the same!” that’s not a direct threat; it’s just support.
I think you‘d agree that’s still pretty messed up, right?
“Pretty sure following the bible is the part of being a Christian.”
Sure, now show me where threatening, harassing, and bullying is part of the Bible and we’ll have a real conversation. As said, the comments here, and the actions of people in real life, have gone FAR beyond shunning. It’s like saying “We yell at this girl, gossip about her, and threaten her!“ and nodding along and going ”Yeah, way to shun her!” Errr…

Posted on May 25, 2012 at 7:59pmLOCKED, I was simply talking about the ones “making her feel like an outcast”. No TRUE Christian (it is sad that so many people call themselves that these days but do not act the part) would be threatening this girl OR going along with harassment of her. I just I don’t see these instances as the same (BESIDES the part about threatening a teenage girl for her beliefs be wrong). Alquist was going out of her way to attack the Christians of that school just because she has had hate fed to her by her Godless family her whole life. She was in no way offended by the prayer mural she just wanted to be a jerk and make them remove it. That is its own kind of bullying and sometimes people overreact when they are bullied. I know we will never see eye to eye on this because you have a false premise of “separation of church and state”, and sadly past liberal activist judges have seen it your way and are destroying the moral fiber that made this the greatest nation on earth.
To me its like this: one person is speaking out on the dangers of islam and getting death threats. Someone else uses political pressure to have a 100 year old, beloved local “monument” removed because the quote carved on it is a bible scripture, and they also receive threats. While threats are not the way to go, islam is VERY dangerous and should be fought on all fronts (as should homosexuality) and the monument was forcibly taken away from the 95% that cherished it. One just doesn’t seem as “ind
