On the other hand, just imagine the uproar if Maher said Obama’s problem is that he was half white and that “there’s a [black] man in him holding him back because everything is half-assed.”

Not sure if those same audiences would appreciate the opposite role or, indeed, be able to survive it. These people fail to consider the best interests of their country; or is it in the best interests of any country to divide the discussion along racial lines when the more productive discussion would cover intelligence, preparation, and longer term consequences of action?
I’d ask why we can’t see the President’s credentials; the same which would be required if you or I tried to run for this or any office–our degrees, our professional credientials such as license to practice, and our accomplishments vetted by a third party clearly outside the circle of friends. Facility with words fails to create an unlimited intelligence. I’d be far more interested in getting the people behind this President out of “office.” At this point the President isn’t really relevant; it’s who driving him and the apparently intended ends. Whose treasure will we become if this administration succeeds in turning our society to trash?

His mother was raised a Marxist and was never reported to have disavowed that dream. He doesn’t even come close to representing African Americans, or for that matter “typical white people” He has no ties to either of us.

He’s also encouraged, not a few, liberal scholars to attempt to change history,(a number of judges, too). Personally I think the sign should have been change from ‘White’ to ‘American’ and then it would have been more accurate.
