Oct. 22, 2010 at 6:45pmThis is a dumb story. It has Zero chance of success because no one wanting Hilary for President is going to vote against Dems and for Republicans. It worked in the primary because Republicans could cross over and play spoiler just like Dems do.
Besides, wouldn’t Obama have a stronger hand for relection if he can campaign against the ruling Republicans? If Hilary wants him to be more unpopular in 2012she should hope he carries ALL the blaim for the next two years.

Oct. 22, 2010 at 5:39pmRush is a political strategy genius. I don’t know why every one here thinks he’s nuts cause he’s so right. Think about it if the democrats win this election and they continue on there current course which leaves Hillary out to dry. If they lose people will start to blame Obama and will think we should have voted for Hillary. Glen Beck said something similar not to long ago about how people are starting to see Obama as far to radical so they will put in some one who will say, “I’m not as crazy as that guy.” Which very well will be Hillary. Rush knows what the democrats are thinking and he knows they won’t vote republican just to screw over Obama. They very well could leave him out to dry though. He’s looking at the long term strategy not just Nov. 2nd.

Oct. 22, 2010 at 5:26pmIt is legitimate and not illegal. Considering there is voter fraud running rampant on the left. They will never know if they can win on their own merit because they have to do it in a corrupt fashion. Considering they are under investigation in Cincinnati for busing high school seniors to “teach” them how to vote. they gave them ballots with just the green candidates name on it. This could be going on at many many many places!!!

Oct. 22, 2010 at 5:20pm…if it had been Hillary that got elected in 2008, the progressives’ destructive agenda would have been accomplished a whole lot faster. Not that Obama isn’t doing the job…but Hillary has the experience and the know-how to have done it way quicker. Get them ALL outta DC…don’t just replace them with ‘a lesser evil’.

Oct. 22, 2010 at 5:07pmIn a very partisan political environment, like we’ve seen in the past 20 years where elections are so closely decided by almost a 50-50 margin. So currently, having Obama vs. (Republican Candidate) vs. (Other small party candidates) = Approx. 50%-40%-10%, including the independent votes that go for their chosen parties. However, when you split the democrat vote intake for their party’s ticket, now you have Obama or Hillary vs. (Republican Candidate) vs. (Other small party candidates) = 25%, 25% – 40% – 10%. It makes it almost twice as hard for both Obama and Hillary to reach the level of support that a solely backed Republican candidate can in a presidential election. This is obviously a very simplistic explanation, but it points out the type of strategy being used here. Perhaps a variation of the ‘Monty Hall” problem?

Oct. 22, 2010 at 5:05pmThe original operation chaos worked because the people he was ecouraging to vote for Hillary were his listeners. Why would any democrats either a) listen to him or b) do anything he says? My concern is that the democrats will do the opposite of what he proposes and show up in droves at the polls! But he is a pretty smart fellow, so I will assume he has thought this through and knows what he’s doing (I hope)

Oct. 22, 2010 at 4:58pmGiving that some thought, that is a brilliant strategy! The Democrats are set to lose big on Nov. 2. There is no way around that. By the Hillary supporters to abstain from their vote, to send a clear message to BHO, that would also send a clear message to Hillary, as well. It would actually be her duty to rally the DNC to save it from extinction altogether, because 2012 election results will find the Republicans replacing the President, along with several more Senators on that dreadful day. On second thought, Democrats, never mind what Rush just said. I like the idea of only a handful of democrats left, at best, after 11/02/2012.

Oct. 22, 2010 at 5:23pmPresidents that have a primary challenge normally do not win. It weakens them too much. Ford in 76, Carter in 80, Bush in 92. That is the reason this is such a great idea.

Oct. 22, 2010 at 4:24pmI have long thought that Hillary Clinton was going to run in 2012 on the “See I Told You So” platform. What better time for her to announce so publicly than January or February 2011, when she can best be able to say, “See what Obama has led to: A Republican Majority in Congress!”
That’s not necessarily the best turn of events from the conservative perspective, of course, because Hillary would be tougher to beat in 2012 than Obama. Republican nominee would not be able to run against the past 4 years as easily; Hillary could say, “See, but the past four years would have turned out much differently with me in the White House, and now you don’t have to accept the far-out Tea Party as the only alternative. I, Hillary Clinton, am the Third Way.”

It’s not like he’s going to support Hillary in 2012 except to defeat Obama in the democratic primary, if there is one. Oct. 22, 2010 at 5:07pmI agree about term limits, for instance, here is one fries my ass: The Constitution clearly says that the House can run for terms, 2 years and recurring. It says the Senate is 6 years…….period. Why would they go through all the versions they did, comb over every word, not to include “recurring”? I think they were saying something that has been looked over for WAY too long.
6 years and out!

Oct. 22, 2010 at 5:12pmhere’s the actual wording:
Section 2 – The House
The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year…
Section 3 – The Senate
The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State,
….for six Years;
Seems to be pretty clear to me. Why didn’t they say “every 6 years”? Because they wanted term limits!

Oct. 22, 2010 at 9:49pm@ Orion/ Bauer: It was the 17th Amendment that said that the State Legislature no longer elects Senators to Congress as representatives of the States. Before this, the States elected Senators to Represent them. Now States have NO representation in the Federal Government. The popular election of Senators is why we all of these unfunded mandates on the states, and why we are all going broke.
REPEAL 17th AMENDMENT !!!

Oct. 23, 2010 at 6:34pmI hear this ‘term limits’ argument thrown around here ceaselessly. This only guarantees one thing, that incumbents leave office no matter what their performance. So where is the reward for publicly elected officials to do anything the constituency wants?
All you’ve done is given notice to these officials that they have a certain time period to achieve their personal agendas while at the same time telling them they have no chance at re-election. Again, where is the motivation for candidates to work for the public?
You already have the power to exercise term limitations with your vote.

Understandable. I just want people in the DC that are able to do the job, and support the fact they work for the People of America and keep the Constitution as the daily reminder of what they can and cannot do.
We need to change things peacefully, and if violence is suggested as the solution, then the game is over if we go for it. Anyone doubts this, remember, the old Roman Republic was a Republic until violence begat violence then it turned into a dictatorship as did the bloodbath of the French Revolution where a persons rights mattered for nothing – just what was good for the whole.
