Oct. 24, 2010 at 1:57pmThe Tea Party Movement is set to sink its teeth into the November 2 election. Often referred to as “right-wing nuts,” the truth is that these people are certainly not to be feared. Over 70% of Americans agree with the bulk of what the Tea Party stands for. Are they conservative – yes. And proud of it. Proud of its history and tradition. Proud of its results, for the most part. Proud of what it represents – what it stands for. But wingnuts – naw! Not really. If you want to see extremists, try running down the roster of the Democrats in Congress. There is where you will find Al Franken and Alan Grayson and Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi and Bob Etheridge, and Barbara Boxer, and Charlie Rangel, and Harry Reid, and Maxine Waters, and Sheila Jackson Lee, and Eric Massa, and Dennis Kucinich – to name just a few. Do you think that 70% of America supports this circus act?
You see, this election is not going to be only about right verses left. It is about much more than that. It is about right verses wrong. It is about up verses down. It is about independence verses dependence. It is about paychecks verses food stamps. It is about Capitalism verses Socialism. It is about big government verses small government. It is about freedom verses control. It is about less taxes verses more taxes. It is about a balanced budget verses no budget at all. It is about reining-in spending verses spending more and more and more and more. It is about success verses failure. It is about competence verses incompetence. It is about hope verses despair. It is about telling the truth verses being politically correct. It is about digging out verses being shoveled further in. It is about jobs verses rising unemployment. It is about the private sector verses the public sector. It is about the Constitution verses the Rules for Radicals. It is about opportunity verses entitlement. It is about winners verses losers. It is about sunlight verses darkness. It is about fiscal responsibility verses spending, deficits, and debt. It is about landmarks verses earmarks. It is about the Restoring America rally verses the OneNation rally. It is about Ronald Reagan verses George Soros. It is about good verses evil. It is about transparency verses secrecy. It’s about honesty and integrity verses smear campaigns and backroom deals. It’s about owning verses being owned. It’s about fighting against radical Islamic Jihad verses conducting “Overseas Contingency Operations.” It’s about an atmosphere of economic certainty verses the “Summer of Recovery.”
It’s about targeted spending verses “shovel-ready projects.” It’s about “passing the bill to find out what’s in it,” verses an online display of the bill so that the American public can enter the debate. It’s about drinking soda verses drinking Kool Aid. It’s about Fox News verses MSNBC. It’s about thin skin verses thick skin. It’s about the right to build a mosque at Ground Zero verses the wisdom of building a mosque at Ground Zero. It’s about “trust and verify” verses bowing to foreign leaders. It’s about personal profits verses political payoffs. It’s about bi-partisan solutions verses “ramming it down our throats.” It’s about “you’re a racist” verses “I disagree with your policies.” It is about keeping what you earn verses spreading the wealth around. It is about a free market state verses a Nanny State. It is about securing the borders verses suing the state that tries to enforce border security laws. It is about the personal right to choose verses being forced to buy insurance if you don’t want to. It is about personal liberty verses being told how to live, right down to what you eat. It is about accepting the consequences of taking risks verses bailing out failed risk takers. It is about responsibility verses rights alone. It is about public referendum verses a single judge’s decision. It is about the law verses an executive order. It is about making a decision verses appointing never-ending commissions, task forces, and czars. It is about privacy verses governmental invasion of privacy. It is about getting fair and balanced, unbiased reporting verses what we have now from the major print and electronic news media.
This is what the November 2, 2010 election is all about. And it is the Tea Party Movement that has brought these issues front and center, and kept them there. They did this in spite of the lamestream media’s attempts to ridicule them, vilify them, cover up and not report good stories about them, report misleading information about them, distort and misrepresent their members and activities, and flat-out lie to the American people about them. I believe we owe a debt of gratitude to the Tea Party Movement for raising our national consciousness, focusing us back again on the things that really matter, and being boned and filleted for, and while, doing it! My personal ‘Thank you’ to the “tea baggers!”

Oct. 24, 2010 at 1:57pmIn today’s society few speak well of the ruling class. Not only has it exploded in size and pretense, but it also has undertaken wars it has not won; presided over a declining economy, and mushrooming debt; made life more expensive; raised taxes; and talked down to the American people, while, at the same time, apologized for them all over the world. Americans’ conviction that the ruling class is as hostile as it is incompetent has solidified. The polls tell us that only about a fifth of Americans trust the government to do the right thing. Congress’ approval rating is at 11% as I write this. The rest expect that it will do more harm than good. Additionally, we are no longer afraid to say so. People are speaking out – individually and in groups. Groups are organizing in resistance. While Europeans are accustomed to being ruled by presumed betters whom they distrust, the American people’s realization of being ruled like Europeans shocked this country into well nigh revolutionary attitudes.
One issue to consider is how far today’s ruling class has moved away from our founders. How do they compare the Constitution and Bill of Rights? For example, our philosophy of government as a Republic is laid out in the first 126 words of the Declaration of Independence. In those words, five principles of self-governance are established. They read something like this:
1. there is a Creator
2. He gives us inalienable rights
3. He has a moral law which governs man
4. government exists solely to protect the rights He gives us
5. below God-given rights, we are ruled by the consent of the governed
So, how are we doing today? How do these words square with government today? The way I see it, we can stop with #1. That concept alone is under assault in this nation today. A man in Texas was fined by a judge for reciting a prayer that included the word “Jesus,” for crying out loud. Nativity scenes at Christmas have been removed from most places. Crosses are covered for Presidential appearances. God’s moral law is having a tough time governing man because our ruling class is re-writing moral laws for us all the time. Like many other things in our daily existence, the five principles of the Declaration of Independence have been turned upside down.

Oct. 25, 2010 at 11:31amThere are more than likely thousands of homeowners in Massachuetts who have been or about to be foreclosed on. Many of them are from Barney’s district.
The voters in Barney’s deistrice should realize that HE is greatly responsible for the chaos in the housing and financial markets. Barney used the power of his office to force Freddie and Fannie to pressure banks all across America to issue overpriced loans to large numbers of people who could not afford them. This has caused many banks to fail when the economy slowed down and caused many of the loan receiptants to lose their jobs. This also caused property values to decline leaving huge numbers of homeowners to pay on greatly devalued homes yet without any relief toward reducing their loan payments to reflect the decline th mortgage values not to mention vast numbers of reposessed houses vacant in many developments.
The voters in Barney’s district should carefully review and understand the effect he has has on their financial future. If they are intelligent, and most Mass. voters are, they would send him packing.

Oct. 24, 2010 at 3:46pmHope that gets lots of play in his district. He and Dodd are as much or more responsible for the financial wreck than anyone else in Washington. Would love to see him gone.

Oct. 24, 2010 at 4:55pmLove the ad! But the housing crisis has progressive tentacles that reach into both parties, the banks and Wall Street. The whole lot are corrupt with the American taxpayer left to pick up the tab. This was no accident.
This whole mess has been orchestrated with great precision. Think of the timing. Bush is on his way out so he does not need to suffer the consequences of TARP. Obama is on the way in so he has Bush to use as the scapegoat. It is the perfect storm at the perfect time. The elites have profited and while we have lost our life’s savings. TARP corrupted our republic. The U.S. is becoming an oligarchy.

Oct. 25, 2010 at 8:13amThis guy must reside in the dumbest district in the country. They keep re-electing him. Barney and Nancy must have done a lot of research to find two dumb groups of people to keep them elected.

Born In MA
Oct. 25, 2010 at 9:32amTo all posters who are disparaging the voters of MA. I ask you to please stop. Not ALL of us are behind that jackazz. I also wish to remind you he is from a congressional district, therefore not ALL the voters of the state have the ability to vote him out, but I can tell you, from a ground level opinion, Frank IS running a bit scared as in previous elections, I never saw any kind of ad to vote for him, and the local airwaves have been running ads(of course paid for by his supporters). I as a Mass. resident truly hope he gets his **** kicked out, but it is upto his district. And by the way, I have only voted for a democrat once,in my first ever election when I was 18. Call it foolishness of youth.
