Oct. 27, 2010 at 8:46amObama needs to appoint a Czar for Metaphors. The ACORN-elected Senator went from a car “…careening down an embankment…” to Obama diving in “…just before going over the precipice.”

Oct. 27, 2010 at 8:37amIt is clear that Senator Franken displays no respect and esteem for his office and title of “The Honorable Senator” from Minnesota. As an American, I consider the importance of self control as major criteria for holding such a powerful position. He and others like him including the POTUS show none of these respected character issues.
Have we no foundation for honorable character? The time has come.

Oct. 27, 2010 at 8:35amThis metaphor is silly to begin with. The economy does not have one man driving it. We do not have a dictatorship and the president is not in charge of the economy. To make that metaphor slightly more true, you could say that the democrats in congress and Bush were in charge and the people went along for the ride, but it is still silly.

They have trashed the car and driven it into the ditch. Time to take the keys away from them, ground them for a few years and fix the car so it is drivable again. When we relinquish the keys again it will be under strict supervision.

Oct. 27, 2010 at 1:49pmMoonpeace. Ask yourself this question, “What did people do from the time Europeans came to America up till about 100 years ago?” When someone needed help…we helped each other out. Have you heard, read or seen any information/reports showing thousands dying prior to all of the social programs? No!!! Why? Because we Americans helped each other out. The big difference is we chose to help rather than being coerced or forced to help thru taxes being applied and the government deciding who “deserves” that money rather than us putting our hand out to our neighbor and giving them a hand up.
Could it possibly be that one of the reasons people stand around and do nothing when someone is being robbed, molested, raped, etc. is because of the government taking over more and more aspects of our lives. We don’t have as much of a choice to help during or report a crime any more. We aren’t required to because, well, “the government will take care of the problem and the victim”.
Could it also be that one of the reasons the number of Americans associated with a religion has dwindled is partly tied to this as well. A big part of being a member of a church in years past was giving a hand up. In our church we had a sister parrish in the Apalachian Mountains. We gave money, household items, etc. to help the members of our sister parrish. The priest from our sister parrish would visit us once per year and let us know how our hand up positively impacted the members of our sister parrish. When the government is the one giving all the aid and we don’t have as much to give because of higher taxes, there is one less thing connecting us to our religion. It becomes easier and easier to drift away.

Oct. 27, 2010 at 1:59pmIt also doesn’t help religion when your president refuses to include “endowed by their creator” when reciting The Constitution, or when politicians or those heading political meetings refuse to say the “pleadge of allegiance” or a part of the same pledge that makes reference to the creator. We are supposed to be a country with freedom of religion but are so nervous about political correctness that noone is willing to mention ANY religion.

Oct. 27, 2010 at 1:21pmOVERSAT – For the metaphor to be correct the car would have to be one of those student driver cars that have two wheels. Both the democrates and republicans had their hands on the wheel. The democrate fell asleep while pulling the car to the left. The republican tried to correct and right the car. The democrate woke up and realized the car was going farther to the right but didn’t look to see the car was going back to center. The democrate freaked out and yanked the wheel to the left, sending the car into the ditch and THAT is where Mr. Obama begins his story. As usual leaving out pertinant information to the story to show what really happened and that the Democrates were just as responsible for sending the car into said ditch.

I would guess based on the one electric car Mr Obama drove some 10ft, that it was a typical type of government project start with Over (add here time, money, studies, etc…). And it obviously would have failed any true safety assurance tests, so it had to be one of Government Motors fiasco cars for the masters of the company.

Oct. 27, 2010 at 8:36amYES, the repubs were driving the car off a cliff,…..this is true… And that is because they were TRYING TO BE DEMS……… But the dems took over the wheel, , wrecked the car, poured gasoline all over it , and set it on fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What remains now is a skeleton frame of a burned out shell of what ‘used’ to be America…………… THIS, is the proper metaphor

Now they want to replace this fine mobile with an electric Chinese vehicle. Sellouts, all of them. Why do these politicians dislike Americans so much? Guess we just keep getting in their way to fame and fortune, at our expense. These politicians, both democrats and republicans, are all skating on very thin ice with the American people. Whether they were aware of it or not, all our modern presidents have worked toward the same goal of a “New world order”.
Most of our liberal politicians are complete idiots, (and yellow cowards),and most of our conservative politicians are naive. The big money is on the globalists’ side. The take over is inevitable (bliblical, also),
There are many of our leaders, of all stripes, who are selling us out for a bit of safety. Offering future generations into servitude, ad infinitum, for what? For peace? For security? Don’t make me laugh!!

Oct. 27, 2010 at 4:11pmWho posted yesterday that the fact is….The government is supposed to maintain the car and not drive it at all. The Private sector is the driver and the govenment maintains the road and car. Making the road fair for all cars and all cars maintained well enough not to run other cars off the road. Yes Bush hijacked the car and took it for a drunken joy ride resulting in getting it stuck but that does not justify Obama getting in and pushing the Nitros Oxide button and heading off the cliff???? As of now we would be lucky if we could get both of them thrown in the pokie while we keep the car high centered until we can find the real driver…..the private sector. They can’t drive if we don’t send the gas money???
