Reid, Pelosi Plan ‘Fast Track’ for Lame-Duck DREAM Act Vote

Even before he secured a re-election victory last week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid promised to bring up the controversial DREAM Act for a vote during the upcoming lame duck congressional session. The DREAM Act would grant legal citizen status to illegal immigrant students who enroll in American schools.

In recent days, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has also signaled her support for a lame-duck vote on the DREAM Act, suggesting congressional Democrats may be feeling confident about its level of support on Capitol Hill, at least in the House of Representatives.

Now, according to Fox News, Reid is planning to “fast track” a vote on the DREAM Act, putting the immigration overhaul at the top of his lame duck to-do list:

News of Reid’s plan to push through a DREAM Act vote comes just days after a report was released revealing how the U.S. Department of Justice offered millions of taxpayer dollars to “compensate more than two dozen states, counties and cities for their costs of jailing illegal immigrants — even though those communities have adopted policies that obstruct immigration enforcement,” Fox reports.

If we can’t defeat this thing, our side should load the thing down with as many amendments as possible such as Congressional pay cuts, elimination of the Department of Education, defunding NPR or anything these progressives hold near and dear. Maybe Texas could threaten secession if passed. We’ve got to throw everything at killing this NIGHTMARE Act including the kitchen sink.
All Harry is looking to do is re-pay the unions for stealing the election for him. People like Reid are a cancer on our Republic.

I gave up taking vacations to kal-y-4-nya 7 years ago, even though it is a beautiful state.The wife and I loved the wine country.The last time,bums in the gutter everywhere. I have been to your state (Nevada)three times in the past 6 years on vacations.The last was 2 yrs ago.

What is wrong with the democratic party? They just don’t get it. Don’t they get the idea that with such available information, people remember what politicians do? There were A LOT of elected representatives who were talked into voting for Obamacare on the promise that voters would forget come election time. They’re now out of a job.

Any democrat who votes for this partisan, unpopular piece of garbage bill WILL lose their job next election! Focus on the economy or do nothing!

Even though the majority in the country are opposed to this legislation, the progessive leadership wants to ram it down our throats anyway. It is abundantly clear that representation in the eyes of the Democratic Party is seen as totalitarianism and not Of, By, and For the People.
This time throw another party Nancy but this time it will be a going away party.

  It is time to call a traitor a traitor. This is a blatantly treasonous act to attempt to pass this legislation prior to the newly elected representatives to take office. It may not be treason by law but it is definitely treasonous in spirit. These people are now only holding the seats until the new reps are sworn in. Call your congressman and senators and let them know that Pelosi and Reid may not be from our districts but they are and they will not be forgotten if they allow this to pass.

I am an immigrant. A “legal” immigrant.

I spent thousands of dollars and waited at the INS for hours in lines to do things legally.

  Only thing on them voting for the Dream act is they are planning already for the 2012 and 2014 elections. This will lay the groundwork for something larger to come. As Beck has warned, they are preparing a structure within a structure; plus they plan for two or three steps ahead. Figure out how this bill will be a beachead for them in 4-8 years of time, and then look for the links built to attach a larger structure.

  I am hoping that this can be prevented from moving forward. This country is in serious trouble and someone in Congress should address the fact that before things are taken away from citizens and additional fees are thrust upon citizens that the illegals need to be removed from the process. These illegals have had more than enough of time to become legal and do what is right. They have time to apply and receive entitlements but none for becoming legal.   I have a dream and it is that each and every one of these Progressives would be tried for high treason and upon being found guilty thrown in jail for the rest of their natural lives while doing hard labor. The President and Vice President also, with Pelosi, Reid, and Hillary shoud be impeached and tried for any and all crimes of treason and sedition in the lands for calling us Americans their enemies.

  Perhaps there’s a way to send the EPA to the border to observe the debris of illegal entry into the country. If they cannot, or will not, call for actions to prevent such catastrophic environmental damage, then they run the risk of allowing the public seeing how political motivated they really are, and having their funds cut.
  
  However, if these progressive trolls try and push more unwanted legislation upon the nation, I suggest we remind them in the next election by sending more true conservatives to Congress and the White House in 2012 and there after.
  In any case, I suggest writing your representative to inform them of your “concerns” regarding this legislation, then saving their responses in case they may be of use during the next election cycle.

  Obama has never enforced or liked ANY border security. The more the merrier. They even like the states going broke over illegal’s use of services… That just feeds the federal government’s desire to bail out those states TO GAIN MORE CONTROL by making the states MORE DEPENDANT.
