Gosh, the man could just make a tape of himself looking into the camera saying”This is only happening because Obama is a black man,” and replay it after every incident that results in criticism of Obama. Then he would hardly ever have to even show up at the studio to work, which would probably result in an increase in his ratings.

  Actually, profiling is not only smart, it’s legal. It’s done all the time. It’s called criminal profiling. When law enforcement gets a tip that a store has just been robbed by a 6-4″ white male with blond hair, blue eyes, tattoos and is between 25 and 30 years old, does it make sense to round up black grandmothers, preschoolers, nuns and latino gang members just to be fair? But that’s what we’re doing. Every act of terrorism against the US since the 70s exccept one has been done by the same group of people- Musilm males between the ages of 20 and 45. Patting down white female septuagenarians and four year olds is a waste of time, resources, and ultimately ignores the real problem.
  
  We profile when we give people benefits. Should we stop that, too? How about for affirmative action? How about screening for diseases? Profiling is used all the time. Or is some profiling acceptable to you but others not? If Muslims don’t want to be singled out and profiled, them maybe they ought to start policing thier own.

  Profiling does not mean treating someone any different. It simply makes that person more of an interest. I do believe, correct me if I am wrong, all terrorist attacks have been carried out by young males 18-40 years old, arabic descent, and muslim. Therefore, males 18-40 would have red flags stuck all over them( I have travelled alone and was “secured” in Bozeman Montana). And that I have no problem with. When you want to see sucess look to EL AL. Matter of fact, contract a few EL AL profilers to help us in our quest for safety. Their interview techniques along with their ability to spot problem people would have stopped several recent airline attacks, and possibly sped up the process. Calling all profiling racism is incorrect, as I was incorrect in branding all on the left as race baiters. Broadbased “stupid” screening techniques can be defeated. Smart profiling, well applied, can not.

The line between Comedy Central and MSNBC is VERY thin. If John Stewart said exactly what Shultz said, his whole audience would laugh. If Olbermann read Stewart’s monologue with a straight face, it would seem like a regular MSNBC show.

  Everybody racially profiles. There’s nothing wrong with it, per se.
  
  If some guy throws a rock through the back window of your car, and you saw that it was an Asian kid, when you tell the cops that, they are going to use racial profiling to find the vandal that broke your window.
  
  Similarly, everybody knows that the vast majority of illegal aliens crossing into the country from the southern border are Mexicans and fit a certain race-based profile.
  
  So, if you wanted to keep the most people from illegally coming into our country by crossing the southern border, it logically follows that you would focus on a certain race.
  
  You’ll have the best results by doing so, I promise. And those who came in legally will thank you for it.

  As a black man myself it is getting a little old with you can’t disagree with this Prez because you must be a rasist. It’s as simple as this. This country was founded on principles of which he has vowed to totally transform. Even after taking the oath that states he will uphold. This is our problem plain and simple.

  It makes you a person of conviction and maybe introspection. However, be careful with hate, it has a way of consuming you and robbing one of reason and clear thinking. I disapproved of Obama too but I do not hate him. During these dark days we need to stay clear and level headed.

  Looking at the history of airline hijacking and global terrorism you can’t deny the fact that the majority of the people who engage in this activity are mid-eastern people with brown skin. Everyone racial profiles whether they want to admit it or not…….I do it all the time,if I pull into a 7-11 late at night and the only people in the store is 3 or 4 young kids dressed like gansta’s no matter what their skin color is I leave and go somewhere else.Should I have profiled these young men?……who knows?,would something have happened?,probably not but you never know……why tempt fate? When it comes to national security I feel the TSA should racial profile……it makes more sense to shakedown a grown man with brown skin than it does a 8 yr old white boy. This guy is a moron……it has nothing to do with skin color, I’m not saying that all mid-eastern people are gun toting,american hating,bomb carrying terrorists,but when they are flying in or out our country they should be treated as such and I don’t care how bad their feelings get hurt. Instead of making sure we don’t board a plane with a gun maybe they should allow passengers to carry guns…..garaunteed 9/11 would’ve been a whole different scenario rather than a horrible memory.

  There you go again Ed, tweeking the numbers. You said, “two percent of the American public are being patted down. Okay Ed, what percentage of the flying public are being patted down.? You diminish the issue by using the larger group of “American public”. You need to take the group of “flying public” to get an accurate picture. Rush brings up a valid point. El Al (the Isreali airline) utilizes racial profiling. Ed, when was the last time you have heard of any issue on an El Al plane? So, now the whole group of “flying public” has to be exposed to additional radiation and humiliation because a small group of people, like you, have an issue with racial profiling. If you haven’t done something wrong and aren’t currently involved then what is the issue? You won’t have anything to worry about, right?

  I’m with you, Equaljustice. I thought Glenn Beck was hiring journalists that were going to report the news, not give attention to idiots like Schulz. My TV has an off button for a reason: because I don’t want to listen to idiots like Schulz. I would have no clue what he was saying, if the Blaze didn’t keep giving him attention. I’m about ready to stop giving The Blaze my attention. They are wasting my time.
  
  If Ed Schulz was an honest man, he’d notice that Florida Tea Partiers just elected Lt. Col. Allen West to the house, and he actually is an African-American. There are an awful lot of us who think he’d make a lot better president that Obama. I’d vote for him in a heart beat. But then, I’d have voted for Colin Powell or Condelezza Rice as well. If Schulz were an honest man, he’d know this isn’t about Tea Partiers being racist, but about Progressives having nothing to retreat to but a charge of racism.
  
  I think we all know Schulz is not an honest man. Why are we wasting time talking about him? This is not news. I just want to know when the Blaze is going to start covering the real news, like CEDAW, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, SB510 and the DREAM ACT. If this is just going to degenerate into another “news” outlet that only bangs on the supposed issue of how much smarter its readers are than the readers of every other site, I’m going to go looking elsewhere for news that doesn’t waste my time.

  I hate to say this but I agree that the right is totally blowing this out of proportion. I travel regularly, to U.K. in September, to Germany to October, To Los Angeles in November and to Miami last week.
  
  The ONLY place where I was patted down was in Dusseldorf, and it was a thorough patting.
  
  I know there must be some “over the top” TSA officers out there in the U.S., but I have never met one myself and my passport is nearly full of timestamps.
  
  The vast majority of these people are law-abiding, honest people trying their best to relate to the American public who pays their salaries. I am CONSERVATIVE and I am all for security.
  
  I disagree with Ed Schultz that we are racist, blah blah. But it DOES appear to me the “strong American security-living” right is on the wrong side in this fight. And I have to admit he nailed us this time. He is an idiot, but he isn’t stupid.
  
  It is hypocritical to pick fights just because it is politically convenient. If we really want to win hearts and minds AND FREAKING ELECTIONS (people) then the way to do it is to be on the right side of the issue even if it means we agree with the left.
  
  I am vastly disappointed in Hannity and the rest that they would pick on the TSA just to see if they make more poltical hay against the current administration. I hate Napolitano as much as anyone – but while you are falling for this SMOKESCREEN Harry Reid is going to pass the DREAM ACT. Focus on the real issues, this one is B.S.
  
  WAKE UP FOLKS and pick your battles. We have to tell out spokespeople what we think, and not just be lemmings agreeing with everything Hannity and Limbaugh say.
