Our Rights come from God and I know of no religous document that states a right to the internet. Uphold the Constitutionnot create a dependent state.

Funny, Don Imus gets in massive trouble for saying “nappy headed” but here we have the FCC Commissioner saying it and we only get laughter! Maybe she can get away with it because she is black and could probably get away with saying the “n” word too. I beleive they call that double standards…..She should be fired!

  Hey, remember when women used bobby pins to make tight hair curls? Maybe everyone should style their hair this way again in order to have free internet access and all the other freebies and entitlements that this government wants to redistribute from the rest of us. It won’t happen though, maybe just temporarily, since that’s not their real intention to help the needy.

Librarys all over the country have free internet, college campuses, almost all grade schools. GO TO THE LIBRARY!!

  Here is a thought. What if people that want (FREE) did some public work, like picking up garbage along the side of the road or a thousand other jobs I can think of.   The thing that distrubs me is that this woman is basing her support for free Internet on an observation she made as a child, she admits she was 8 or 9 years old.
  
  Now, let me ask you this, Mr. Jettson (great screen name by the way), what did you call your boss at work? You called him “Mr. Spacely”, didn’t you? You never called him Cosmo, at least not his face. Why? Because he was your boss, right?
  
  Does this woman actually think that people who worked for the Rockefellers or the Kennedys actually called their employers by their first names while they were employed by them? Seriously???
  This was a social cue that she missed, not a racial thing.
  
  This woman doesn’t appear to be old enough to remember that this all kind of changed in the late 60s early 70s. You might know the bank teller really well, but when you were in the bank as a customer, it was always “Mr.”, “Miss” or “Mrs.” from both parties, none of this “I’m your buddy who you have never seen before in your life and might not see again, but I’ll call you by your first name” junk.
  
  So, I discount her story based on a faulty premise, since she ascribes it to racism rather than how society worked when she was a kid.
  
  And I agree with the other posters who point out that the public libraries, schools and lots of other locations provide free wi-fi. You want 24/7 access – pay for it like the rest of us.
  
  And about the hair texture comment – she’s proud of the phrase, points it out to the audience even just to make sure they didn’t miss it, but her own hair certainly looked straight to me.

  I think this is part of the larger National Socialist plan. They must make sure that Government Internet is in the b lacks faces in order to promote their propaganda. Net Neutrality is already being forced upon us – which of course is going to quickly allow complete Internet control by our government.
  
  I just have a feeling that the government realizes, that by suppressing the b lacks for so long, that they are Homer Simpson, who must have the propaganda fed RIGHT into their residences, because they have become too dependent and lazy to even go to the library.

  I called my Congressional office today and demand that she be fired for making these statements as she made such emphasis repeating to show her intentional saying those disgusting words. We need to take a stand and make sure that these race baiters understand that they will face consequences for their double standard.   It is not really about the Internet. What is revealed here is the actual mentality of (not all) black Americans. I am not raciest. I have some very good friend who are black. But there is a segment of black Americans (and some whiles) who have been raised up with the government supplying all their needs. They actually believe they have this right. They feel it is their right for those who have to give to those who have not. While I do believe in charity, let me choose who I want to help out along the way.
  
  The reason Obama got elected was mainly due to people with this mindset supporting him as well as young and dumb others as well. Obama himself is for “sharing” from the haves to the have nots.
  
  We should all blame ourselves for supporting a government who over the last 60-70 years have crated an environment where certain people have received their money and support from the government. This should have been corrected long ago. I will say however that any “good man” black or while or what ever will find a way to support his family without asking for a handout. VICTORY OR DEATH

  My kids have done without internet at home for three years because of financial difficulties. We just got back on-line last month. It didn’t kill them not to have it. Its not the end of the world. What the hell did people do before the net? Oh yeah, read a book, use research tools at the library. Man get over it already. The internet is a priveledge, not a right. You have a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the rest your on your own. Take some pride in yourself, try standing on your own two feet for a change, this whinning is really eating at my last nerve.

  As a poor white child who had no access to the internet-oh, wait, there was no internet-I made it to college and graduate school. I had all hand me downs given to us by others who looked down on us.
  I think that Miss Alice gave her the incentive to do something with her life. I only wish she had done something else.

  Civil Rights do not include the internet. I’m sick and tired of people thinking that giving something for free is a solution to everything. How about you take that time and money and put it towards educating both “nappy headed kids” and maybe non-nappy headed kids too. You give opportunities and it is up to the individual to make it into something worthwhile. This country gives plenty of opportunities and people aren’t willing to work to better themselves. They want a hand out. Well guess what? Hand outs don’t work and failure is a part of life. Learn from it and don’t reward people for bad choices and poor judgement.

  This is not about free internet, free education, free food, free health care, free public transportation, free housing, free anything. It is about restricting freedom. The progressives sense the change in the winds. They are trying to garner favor by doing what they have always done. It will not work, in the long run, as it has worked so far. Some will be bought. But I see the posts of many on this site and other sites, that tell me some of their clientele are shopping elsewhere. A lot of window shoppers too. And the offerings on the right are becoming much more appealing.

  On a serious note, the thing I find most disturbing about this clip is not her racist comments but the fact that she was too good for hand-me-downs and she turned her nose up at a person who’s heart was in the right place.   The point s I took fromthe story is that she is angry that her grandmother had to call the lady that she worked for by the title of Miss and not by her Christian name and that she was not given a pair of new shoes but a hand me down pair. In my world I do not call my boss in the familiar but always address them by title or sir. I think that perhaps this womans sense of entitlement is more dominant than her grandmothers sense of work ethic and responsibility to care for her own. If this woman would have had her grandmother practice her entitlement mentality grandma would have been on welfare and this woman would be as well. If the lady she worked for would have been black,jewish or anything else she still would have referred to her as Miss because she was her boss not due to racism. A racist would have thrown the shoes in the trash and would not have had her grandma working for her in the first place. This woman needs to read or rent “To Kill a Mockingbird” then knock her chip off her shoulder.

  How sad that this woman has been led to believe that being given hand-me-down shoes is such an injustice. I was one of five children in a single-parent family that regularly received hand-me-down clothing from friends. We considered it a blessing and were grateful. Not one of the five of us ever got into trouble with the law. We became productive adults and the heads of our own respective families.
  
  At 3:44 she says that she wants to assure that every man, woman and child has the same opportunity. I don’t know what country she thinks she lives in, but we already DO have the same OPPORTUNITY. Some take those opportunities and create lives worth living — others only complain about what they have not been GIVEN without effort on their part.

  I know what the answer is, GO TO THE LIBRARY!!!!!!!!!!!! The library offers free internet! Don’t be scared, i know they house books in there but it will be alright.
