  Moore is kind of right. Banks that got TARP/Stimulus money are not loaning it out but investing it in the stock market/commodities and other such things. Essentially the banks are able to borrow fro free from the FED and invest it safely and make money. They do not believe the real estate mkt has reached bottom and therefore do not want to risk loaning money on an asset that is depreciating in value. The same is true for the confidence in the business market. No one wants to make a move (borrowing or lending) because of the ObamaCare, EPA, FDA regulations coming out.

I think that if some of our better off patriots, entrepreneurs and investors could join me in a one time payment of $2,000 or more to pay off a few Trillion dollars of the Iraq War debt incurred since 2000; everything would be a little better here, a little less harsh, and a little more optimistic.

  I think Gov. Walker is trying to implement something like what you are suggesting with the public employee unions in Wis. right now. It appears they will have nothing to do with it. They were asked to participate before they were required to (potentially required to with the new law), but they would have nothing to do with it. I did not prosper during the period of time you are speaking of, so it appears I will have nothing to do with it.
  
  Seems you are going to have a terribly difficult time getting people to join your “union” of “$2000 each”. I would suggest you find a good, Bible believing church (not socially progressive) and give your 2 grand to them. I’ll bet they have alot of widows, orphans and hungry families that would really appreciate it. Stop making the government your church!

  Have you ever served in the military? I have. The structure of the military is set up like it is for a very specific reason. Individual freedom has worked well in America for more than 200 years; it does not work well in combat situations where team work is key.

  Yes, I served 9 years 11 months as an unmarried enlisted, earned Honorable discharge in 1981 and never looked back. I am in good health and never had to personally use VA but my father and 3 of my brothers did. You said, “the military is set up in a special way.” Well, that way is not based on wealth and ownership. That way is taking care of the mission by unselfishly doing our duty and protecting our comrades in arms. We are getting paid based on the position and the situation, not by owning capital. We received everything we needed from the state, and were encouraged to help each other qualify and fight as a unit. In the military we unselfishly sacrifice and even die for each other and for the mission.
  Few of the “bureaucratic” and “membership only” organizations you listed are as “purely socialist” as that, if you understand the word. Few of them pay in blood for their sisters and brothers advancement. Eh?

  I still take umbrage with you’re saying “NO American group more Socialist than the US Military”. It’s not the same as socialism being forced upon people by government. Military service, unless there is a draft, is voluntary.
  
  You’re right when you say “Few of the “bureaucratic” and “membership only” organizations you listed are as “purely socialist””. Some are Communist and that’s even worse than Socialism. Socialism is a major step towards Communism and neither has ever worked. Our country is the most successful and most free of any ever. It does not need to be “Fundamentally Transformed”.
  
  As for this article, you could take 100% of the wealth of the top 10% of our country and still not be able to pay back the debt our Community Organizer-in-Chief has amassed in just two years. That is approximately $3.6T. To be fair, I didn’t like the debt President Bush gave us either, but Obama exceeding that by far.
  
  If you did take people’s wealth, what do you do after that money is gone? What incentive would there be for anyone to ever create wealth again? They wouldn’t, and the tax-base would disappear.
  
  There’s only three ways the government gets money, taxing, printing and borrowing. The all have their consequences. Cut spending instead! We already spend more money on both Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security than we do Defense/Wars. Those socialist-style, redistribution of wealth, programs are what’s killing us. I would love to opt-out of those programs, but I can’t. That is government intruding on individual freedom and that’s not what made this country what it is, the most successful and most free of any ever.

  Warren Buffett has come out favoring increasing the tax on the “Rich.” Why is this not a surprise?
  Sure Warren Buffett is in favor of increased income tax on the entrepreneur. Mr. Buffett is part of the “status quo”. He’s made his money and just wants to keep it. He doesn’t want any competition from an entrepreneur with new technology that can make his empire obsolete, create wealth and increase the general prosperity. Mr. Buffett knows that the progressive income tax makes it more difficult, if not impossible, for the entrepreneur to fund a new or growing enterprise.
  
  If you want to see Mr. Buffett squirm propose a “Net Worth Tax” to replace the income tax. His compassion for the poor would disappear before you could finish the proposal. The threshold for the “Net Worth Tax” could be as low as million dollars. Even that would be a hindrance to the entrepreneur who needs capital to expand his business, but it would really punish the “rich”. Isn’t that what the wannabe tyrants claim to be their objective, punish the rich?
  
  Of course I don’t propose a “Net Worth Tax,” even though makes a lot more sense than an income tax. With a net worth tax the wannabe tyrants could really punish their chosen enemy, the “rich”, only this time it would be the real “rich”.   What he does not understand is that Socialism cannot exist without Capitalism. Capitalism is the engine that fuels the economy. Socialism kills jobs by taking the money needed by businesses to keep the jobs in place and to expand and improve production for additional jobs.

  WE do not own the jobs. The jobs are “owned” by those individuals an companies that create the jobs. If a small percentage of vocal pukes, like Michael Moore, did not demand that our government throw so much money away at bad programs then corporate taxes, fees, etc., would not have to be so high. Then there would have been a good chance that at least some of those jobs would have been left in the united states.
  
  I am still waiting for Michael Moore and those with similar views to give up their wealth to the government. Since he believes that his money is our money it is only fair, right? Since he believes the governemnt can do so much better with the money then I await his check to be handed to the government. How long do I need to wait Michael? Still waiting? Waiting…….

That is, after all, fair, according to your the very words you keep shouting.

  And wealth doesn’t get created unless people work to do so. It’s not a zero sum game, because wealth (not cash) is created all the time. And it belongs to those who created it.

  I love it when the likes of Oprah go around the world and help the poor. It feels good. But is misguided in my opinion. She admits herself that with all her riches she’s but a drop in the bucket. So I wrote to her and suggested a better way of helping the poor. Using myself as an example. I am not rich. I wish to be. I even have products if brought to market can get me there. However, I am broke and can’t get a loan. If she were to invest in me and people like me, we can join the class of the wealthy. Our payment to such a program would be to commit to helping 5 others to become wealthy. And then those five do the same and so on and so on. This way in time we can all attack the problems of the poor instead of one person. But I guess there is not enough self glorification in taking that approach.
