Fox News: Cheney Calls Probe of CIA Interrogators an ‘Outrage’

Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Sunday it’s an “outrage” the Obama administration continues to investigate CIA agents who interrogated terror suspects, claiming they did nothing wrong and expressing concern about the precedent it sets.

Cheney weighed in on the probe after several Republicans and other ex-officials have renewed their call for the Justice Department to drop the investigation — launched nearly two years ago by Attorney General Eric Holder — in light of the killing of Usama bin Laden.

Though it’s unclear what role so-called enhanced interrogation played in finding bin Laden, Cheney told “Fox News Sunday” the techniques probably “contributed” and suggested the circumstances make the Justice probe all the more unsettling.

“It’s unfortunate,” Cheney said. “These men deserve to be decorated. They don’t deserve to be prosecuted.”

@niqusi,please take your link down, this is a scam, the last time something like this was posted,my computer crashed with a nasty virus , that not only destroyed my hard drive,but cost me financially with some stolen info, i did not even go to the link,,just posted a comment to that post, i am not saying it was this link,but people be careful. i have seen fixed how they infected my computer, it was not easy,or cheap ,even paying to have the link traced back to original site.

cut them loose. i don’t care if they shoved peoples heads up camel butts, or if they took pig ears and made Taliban earrings out of them,i don’t care if they lie stole of dunked someones head under a pile of cow poop, just as long as they were defending this great country at all cost, no matter how they done it ,is not the point,the point is they were trying to find out who killed thousands of our family members,friends ,and fellow Americans, they should not be prosecuted, if they prosecute these Americans, they must prosecute obama and anyone else who knew about killing u b l ,that was murder, not that i care he is dead,i am saying you can’t eat half the ice cream cone and want a refund for the other half, either way the lnfo helped kill u b l so either cut them loose,or prosecute the obama administration for conspiring to commit murder,they knew since august of last year where he was,and it still took him 40 hours to decide to kill him or not, that is premeditated murder, again i am glad u b l is dead,but if you prosecute one ,then due everyone.

The V.P is correct The prosecution in a “outrage” but, unfortunatly not an isolated outrage! The Bush administration made plenty of mistakes including a few “political” prosecutions (I voted for Bush Cheny but felt kinda betrayed by the expansion of govt under their watch) The difference is that this prosecution can be laid directly at Holders feet!!! Also this prosecution is apparently only to appease thev more severly braindamaged of Obamas base My question is.. how does anyone stupid enough to believe the C.I A should be prosecuted on this find their way to the voting booth

Mind you, by definition that means traitor, i.e. an anti-patriot if you will. Good luck with that one. I may also remind you the punishment for being found guilty of treason:

” United States Code at 18 U.S.C. § 2381 states ‘whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.’”

By law it is a valid punishment, and I only ask the law is upheld. You’re not very bright are you?!

  Cheney is right in this case, regardless of the conspiracy theories you may believe about the CIA or Cheney himself, it is shameful to prosecute the people that are doing so much to protect our nation. Bush was very smart NOT to partake of Obama’s victory lap! He knows that We know who dunnit! Cheney is right about the CIA probe of interrogators. These people are doing the job they are expected to do–extract information from terrorists to prevent more terror. Obama congratulates the military on one hand for a job well done and then looks to punish them on the other hand. What will his administration do if they capture a high profile target and they need information fast? Read him his rights? This is an EXTREMELY dangerous world and time is of the essence. I think that the military should be allowed to do whatever is necessary, within the law, to extract info that is crucial for the safety of the citizens of the USA. I TRUST the military!!!

This is indeed outrageous. Look, I’m the first to say that ‘following orders is no excuse’ but in this case, we’re talking about waterboarding. Waterboarding is not torture. The ‘torture’ word has been overplayed.

Frankly, whomsoever goes forward with prosecutions in these instances needs to be impeached, and Obama’s flat ‘no’ to Berlingame was ridiculous.

The President could solve this easily by simply informing the attorney general that if he goes forward with the prosecutions, he, the POTUS, will issue a blanket pardon, and thus end the prosecution, but also serve as a public rebuke to the AG.

That would end it.

  I went through what is called S.E.R.E. training (Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape.) I have no idea if it involved full-blown waterboarding or not. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt -> I thought I was drowning. On one level I “knew” I would suffer no long term ill effects from training provided by my own army. Nonetheless my base instinct was oh crap I’m gonna die right here right now! Even after the second experience I was shaken by it. More confident but I can certainly understand how effective it would be if used by an enemy.
