How would you feel if you knew the president regularly sought the advice of a magazine editor/columnist and TV host? It’s true. According to CNN, Obama has made a habit of seeking “wisdom and advice” from host Fareed Zakaria.
In an interview with fellow CNN host Elliot Spitzer, Zakaria admitted Obama and he talk regularly about the Middle East and international policy, a point that Spitzer said makes his heart “warm:”
As Colby Hall notes over at Mediaite, “While it is very impressive, it does raise some eyebrows over Zakaria’s commentary during his Sunday show.”

May. 13, 2011 at 9:29amI’m about the same age as President Obama, and I notice that a lot of people my age put to much trust and admiration into people in the news media and the Hollywood spotlight. It disturbs me. Trust in God and in yourself. Modern journalists have narrow world views and usually know very little outside of journalism itself. That’s especially true for television personalities.
It really bothers me that a United States president seeks advice from a celebrity. His seeking advice from Fareed Zakaria doesn’t bother me nearly as much as him seeking advice from a television pundit/news reader.
Is this from whom he seeks advice and rumination? If it is true, it says a lot about this president. I read posts in which the writers label Barack Obama as a “man child.” I’m starting to believe it is true.
I once did a gig as a judge on a high school quiz show. The audience, which was a cult-like following, believed the host was the smartest man in the state. The truth was that another judge, a producer, and I spoon fed him all of his information down to whispering answers and pronunciations of names and places in his ear. Ah, yes, the magic of television. The guy was an absolute and complete fraud. He knew it off the air, too, and made sure that the three of us were well paid.
I shudder for this nation. Our president thinks that these media types have the answers, that they’re for real.

That is the best place he can go for foreign affairs advice? There have been plenty of stories right her on the Blaze with some of the extreme left wing radical statements that Fareed Zakaria has made and now we find out that he is advising the United States on the middle-east? Whenever I begin to believe that the Executive branch couldn’t do anything that would make me feel any more contemptuous of them they come up with something like this. There are a bunch of amateurs running our country and I sometimes I think that the only reason that they haven’t managed to destroy it yet is because of the strength of the country and not for lack of trying on their part. Perhaps we are also lucky in that they are incompetent bumblers. As it is it will take decades for the country to bounce back from this disastrous administration.

Fareed Zakaria had “face to face” meetings with Obama, not just telephone calls. So, here is another example of secret meetings in the WH. If we trusted the president, we would assume the conversations were in our national interest. However, this is the least trustworthy administration in my lifetime, including that of Nixon. Selective information about the “Arab Spring” seems as dangerous to me as Bobby Kennedy’s restricted arguments by advisors that led to the Bay of Pigs. Obama has lost all credibility with US citizens.

He speaks about the value of democracy, especially in the middle east, and how through democracy, freedom and capitalism nations increase their standard of living thereby reducing extremism. I would hope that any leader would listen to such wisdom.

First thing that comes to mind is this is a conflict of interest. The man has been a journalist since completing his education. Is it not a journalists job to investigate and work to get information for articles. We have already read an article on The Blaze this morning informing how information about the Bin Laden raid has been leaked. Is it at all possible that Zacharia has been able to gleen sensitive information from his discussions with Obama?
