Egyptian Court Strips Christian Man of His Citizenship for ‘Insulting Islam’ and Supporting Israel
“Free speech” has an entirely different meaning in Egypt.
Earlier this week, Morris Sadek, a Christian lawyer living in the United States, was stripped of his Egyptian citizenship and banned from entering Egypt. According to the lawyer handling the case against him, Sadek is guilty of insulting Islam, supporting Judaism and “calling for the killing of Arabs.” Additionally, the Egyptian court is upset over his call for the United States and Israel to get involved in the nation’s internal affairs.
Sadek says he won’t appeal the decision, but that the incident will show the world the role that Islamists play in Egypt’s judicial system. So, in the post-Mubarak world, this case begs the question: Are things really changing for the better?
Earlier this week, Khaled Abu Toameh had this to say about this matter (via the Hudson Institute):
The move against Sadek coincides with increased violence against Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority, including the torching of churches.
While the military council has been quick and firm in subjecting women to virginity checks and bringing peaceful demonstrators before military tribunals, it has shown incompetence in dealing with anti-Christian violence.
Those who were hoping that Egypt would enjoy a free media in the post-Mubarak era were reminded last week that that the situation under the military council has not changed dramatically.
With actions like this, it’s easy to question how the landscape will change, if at all, following Mubarak’s exit. In the end, Sadek’s case illustrates that freedom of speech is a theoretical construct yet to be practiced in Egypt.

Posted on May 26, 2011 at 1:55pmEgypt can do whatever the heck it pleases, as long as it does not attack the US or its allies. What is the point of this story?
Wait, I think I can guess—Arabs are evil and we should bomb them until there are none left, correct?
Why are Blazers (the yucky ones, obviously) always looking for someone to hate, something to prohibit, and all this under a saccarine cover of some fascist Jesus, which I think is a blasphemous invention of their hick minds?

That’d be a good place to start! Good idea! Thanks! But you should have said “muslims” instead of Arabs, although I guess most Arabs (which refers to people from Saudi Arabia not Egypt) are muslims, except of course for people like the man in this story, who happens to be an Eqyptian Christian. And since the point of the story is lost on you, let me help: WTH do you think will happen to our allies in Israel when they get their caliphate? Duh!
Really you should try to be more accurate when you insult people on this website.

Then you post this… “and all this under a saccarine cover of some fascist Jesus, which I think is a blasphemous invention of their hick minds?”
Do you not see the contradiction in your own argument?
Amazing…

But the REAL leaders support Islamo-Fascism, as it is the opposite side of the coin that they desire: Marxism/Communism.
Supporting Islam/Egypt/Muslim Brotherhood—-is but a means to an end.

Posted on May 26, 2011 at 3:32pmI wish more people would try and understand the Islamic structure and the roll that each “good little Muslim” has in that structure. Its really very simple if you just analyze those who played a roll in 9/11: there were three types. 1) You have the group of planners, thinkers, financiers and leaders. They dreamt-up the act of 9/11, planned 9/11, funded 9/11, and led others in their rolls. 2) You have the doers. These were the muscle-men that forced the cockpits and created fear among the passengers to facilitate submission. I contend that these two groups are what many consider to be the radical Islamists. But there is another group that had a very important roll (perhaps the greatest roll in 9/11). 3) The peacemakers or as I like to call them, the deceivers. These were the pilots that deceived the passengers into believing that they were just returning to the airport and as long as they did as they were told- they would be fine. This group which describes itself as the non-extreme Muslims are doing their roll today: Convince the rest of the world that their religion of peace has been hijacked, but if we all just do as they say we will return to the airport and we will all be okay. I contend that until we all realize that their isn’t two kinds of Muslims: extreme and non-extreme. But that they are all extreme. We are headed for Shanksville, PA, and time is running out for us to take back the plane.

Posted on May 26, 2011 at 2:50pmSure it is, if you look at it from the new definition that the progressives have applied to democracy. What some fail to realize is that this world of chaos which needs to be created must be done in part through the frustration born of poor communication. What better way to facilitate that than to literally obliterate the fundamental communication medium of words and meanings of words. Up is down, down is up, inside out is outside in etc.
What I find truly interesting is that most people do not know the meaning of a democracy. Democracy in its simplest form just means a governing body elected by the people. This means that the majority of the people will elect who ever they want to govern them. It does not mean that will be free. They will be free to do what ever their elected officials allow them to do. It is a republic that allows for greater freedom because they themselves are the governing body: of the people, for the people, and by the people. A republic has more checks and balances to protect the people from their elected officials- unless you are considering the US, in which our republic has been hijacked by the progressive movement. With regard to the Middle East- the people there will never know freedom because they are held hostage by a religion that does not believe that they can govern themselves. They riot in the streets against their leaders who physically oppress them using their very religion which binds them mentally thus continuing the cycle.

Look for the Christians to be forced out as were the Jews after Israel returned to the map. Arab and Coptic Christians will only make Israel stronger. Hopefully, Israel understands this and lets them in as refugees.
