Newly Posted Video Shows Stunning Moment Iranian Military Jet Goes Down in Flames
A previously-unseen video posted on YouTube apparently shows the 2009 crash of an Iranian military jet outside Tehran in 2009.
The accident in which the Ilyushin IL-76MD went down in flames occurred following a military air show and parade on September 22, 2009.
The video was taken by the crew of a C-130 that was recording an F-4 Phantom II. Off in the distance, the Iranian plane can be seen tumbling to Earth and crashing in a giant fireball.
Daily Mail: Seven people were killed in the crash, which is believed to have taken place at a 2009 military air parade over Iran when the IL-76 collided with a HESA Saeqeh fighter jet escort.

Posted on June 6, 2011 at 2:51pmSocialism_Is_The_New_Black ,Yes look it up. During the Reagan administration, senior Reagan administration officials secretly facilitated the sale of arms to Iran, the subject of an arms embargo.[2] Some U.S. officials also hoped that the arms sales would secure the release of hostages and allow U.S. intelligence agencies to fund the Nicaraguan Contras. Under the Boland Amendment, further funding of the Contras by the Reagan administration had been prohibited by Congress. Thanks to Wikipedia.

Who gave weapons and money to the so called Afghan freedom fighters who are now killing our brave soldiers? I am not a liberal,I just don’t put blinders on and follow the crowd.

Posted on June 6, 2011 at 7:30amI am no military expert, I have a question … what is a F4 Phantom and a C-130 refueling tanker doing flying over Tehran (in 2009). What country did the US sell F4s and C-130s to (presumably ‘friends’) that would participate in an Iranian air show?

Posted on June 6, 2011 at 7:48amIt takes very little research to discover that it was the United States that sold them these aircraft in the 1970′s while the Shah was still in power. They also have a squadron of F-14A’s that are fortunately grounded for a lack of spare parts. If they had held off the revolution for a little longer, they would have gotten four missile destroyers that ended up in the US Navy when the Shah was deposed (Kidd-class). When your chief bribe to questionable governments is military equipment, some of it is likely to end up in unfriendly hands.

Posted on June 6, 2011 at 8:03amMy point also, why are there American made military aircraft in the hands of the Iranians? Unless they belonged to Israel or Egypt (I doubt Iran would want either country to fly over their land) we need to look into this immediately. Stop selling our military aircraft to foreign nations, instead we should sell them to US citizens and keep them here.

Posted on June 6, 2011 at 8:46amThe Iranians had American aircraft before the jihadist takeover. These would not be recent sale of planes to them.

Posted on June 6, 2011 at 7:43amThe IL-76 is a cargo plane. In both the US and Russia, cargo planes are not equipped with ejection seats. Standard crew of the IL-76 is seven, so if only the pilot could eject the other six people might be a little upset as there’s a chance it’s his fault they were crashing to begin with.

Posted on June 6, 2011 at 7:45amProbably no ejection seat(s). It’s a big airplane.
You can park a couple of busses inside it.

Posted on June 6, 2011 at 10:15amthats only pilots who have that respect for each other. the reason behind that is, dog fights arnt to the death, just until 1 plane cant stay in the air. But for the rest of us it is to the death, so we could really care less if they die or not because thats 1 less guy shooting at us either from land, air or sea.

Posted on June 6, 2011 at 10:27amThe IL-76 is essentially a cargo aircraft, thought it does have a role as an advanced warning and air control (radar) platform. They are not equipped with any kind of ejection seats.

@Oahujack, yes, it’s an F-4 but reverse engineering parts for one isn’t that difficult I’d say the Iranians got a LOT more spare parts for them than the F-14s they got from us right before the 1979 Revolution.
