Jon Stewart Cuts Wrist on Broken Margarita Glass During Sketch Mocking Weiner Newser

It is not hyperbole to say this may have been one of the greatest Daily Show moments of all time. Standing in the same setting Weiner (and, somehow, Andrew Breitbart) had given press conferences the day before– though the chyron cited it as a Motel 6 in Hackensack, NJ– Stewart explained that the decision to run with material about John Edwards and Sarah Palin was all his. The deeper he got into his statement that he took “full responsibility” for the matter, he more he felt compelled to make a series of drinks, each more elaborate than the last. During one of these mini-bartending sessions, Stewart slashed his hand on some broken glass.

This first clip is the set up and the incident. Things start to go down hill after the 4:30 mark. The second clip further below in this post will show the bloody aftermath!

NEW YORK (AP) — The story about U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner’s use of Twitter to send a lewd photo to a woman has been awkward for comic Jon Stewart, a friend of the congressman’s. On Tuesday, it proved painful.

Stewart broke a glass and gashed his wrist while taping a Weiner skit on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.” The taping was briefly stopped so a bleeding Stewart could get medical attention, then resumed after he was bandaged up. Network spokesman Steve Albani said the accident was left in Tuesday’s show.

Stewart and Weiner briefly roomed together when they were younger, a point “The Daily Show” host noted over the past week. That hasn’t stopped Stewart from making fun of his friend, who admitted Monday to inappropriate online contact with women he met on social networks.

Tuesday’s skit featured Stewart in a mock news conference designed to resemble Weiner’s from the day earlier. Stewart broke the glass when the script called for him to make a margarita.

The show posted a picture of Stewart’s bandaged wrist and a bloodstained cuff of his shirt.

Lighten up people, it’s comedy. Anybody that takes this sh** seriously is going to screw us with or without Stewart because like the requirements to get a Government job, eligibility to vote does not require a competency test either.

Hmmmm. Slashing of the wrist on nat’l show. I’m not being a conspiracy theorist-well, OK , maybe. One of two things will come out of this. Either glass marguirita glasses WILL be outlawed, or he’s conditioning the lemmings!

DEAR GOD, these people are sooooooo s-i-c-k!!!!

We really should be praying for them. Must admit, my prayers have been more on the side of, “GOD, could YOU open up a big hole in the ground and just swallow them all at one time so the rest of us can go on with our lives?”

Must be time to turn that around to,

‘LORD, don’t bother with the hole!” ; )

Actually, we need to be removing ourselves from the “evil ones” who are sold out 110% to satan and be praying for one another….GOD says we are not even to pity them….and we are to pray for “those of the household of faith.”

  Er, when did he claim not to be left-leaning? It’s already established on the show how his politics are. What he’s NOT biased in is his comedy. He rips on anyone who makes a mistake or does something silly. He’s bashed Weiner and Palin equally over the same week or so, guys.
  
  What I really want to see if Fox News drop a pair and admit THEY have a bias. All they ever claim is “fair and balanced.” Even the folks here can see what a blatant lie that is.

Anthony Weiner doesn’t have the commonsense to resign, even after he has been exposed for what he is. He’s one of those flasher guys. The flasher guys don’t actually have sex with their victims. These perverts are “satisfied” by shocking or surprising their victims. It’s quite infantile by the flasher guys. He hasn’t been married very long, and I’m guessing that having a sexual relationship with a wife that is not shocked or surprised, doesn’t quite do it for him.

  I enjoyed the skit and appreciated his ability to carry on after a stupid injury. He even made a quick joke using it later on in the show.
  
  Yes he’s a liberal and slants things and is blind to the extent of his bias. But he CAN be funny, and I found this bit funny, and he didn’t poke fun at conservatives.
  
  So why are people here so eager to be grumpy and mean spirited? Conservatives should be generous and gracious in spirit because politics isn’t our life. We live by deeper realities and can afford to be friends with our enemies when they aren’t attacking us.
  
  Too many of you guys sound bitter and vengeful, not the happy warriors like Reagan was. You give conservatism a bad smell.
