  Nah, makes perfect sense. When I go hunting, I should start looking for the varmint in question in my home’s bedrooms and then work my way over to my neighbors’ homes. There might not be deer or squirrels hiding under my child’s bed or in my neighbors’ garages or basements, but do I really wanna take that chance? Besides, is if fair to my intended prey if I just go tromping off into the woods looking for the game in season? Where’s the fun in not looking completely paranoid and inept?
  If I happen to bag the odd dog or cat that was minding its own business, that’s the price the world must pay for my stalwart vigilance.

  And yet tellingly honest. These folks need to expand on the list of enemies. I mean, we’ve seen this already. When your govt. tags you a terrorist (because of your politics or general dissent), you can be LEGALLY stepped on. This isn’t hard to figure out… plenty of examples of govt. bringing the boot down on domestic threats in a manner that reveals how some of the more militant alphabet soup agenicies REALLY view the general populace and any perceived threat to the all-mighty govt.

  Janet Nepolitano doesn’t have a clue as to the meaning of “good sense”. Should Muslim men that are 35 years old or under be singled out for security checks ? Absolutely ! Many or most terrorist are Muslim men 35 years old or under. If the majority of terrorist were white Christian women 35 years old or under it would be using “good sense” to single them out for security screening.
  
  It makes “good sense” to take extra precaution with these individuals. Profiling certain ethnic groups is using very “good sense” and prevents other terrorist attacks in the USA. We dare not sacrifice our security in the name of “political correctness” nor should we ignore lessons that have been learned in the past. As far as I’m concerned too much security is better than no security.

  This clown is the poster-child for why the TSA should be defunded.
  If we mandated that the airlines provide for their own security, and came up with a
  method to prescreen the flying public with a secure ID, it would be done far cheaper and more dignified and professional than the mickey-d rejects we have now with TSA “careers”
  
  A simple local PD background check would do it for the ID, as well as true random spot checks and sniffer dogs along with PSYC-questions. Patdowns do nothing but outrage and operant condition people for the coming checkpoints for ALL travel & public venues.
  
  Seriously, I bet these clowns watched “total recall” and said, yeah like that….

  I’d really love to see the DHS intellegence showing the percentage on non-arabs who are islamic extremists. It’s funny how she will openly aknowledge we are looking for islamic extremists ( terrorists, if she were allowed to use the word), yet pretends there are no actual demographics within this threat group on which we could focus.
  
  Besides, the vast majority of Muslims do NOT speak out against extremism, which to me makes them complacent. Increased scrutiny and inconvenience may actually prompt moderates to deal with the problem within thier own religion. Yeah, right.

  I agree with some of what this lady said and i usually dont listen to her at all. In my opinion anyone who has visited the middle east (other than Israel maybe) since 9/11 should be scrutinized extensively every single time they get on an air plane. As for racial profiling, yes it would be affective. BUT, “Those who give up Freedoms for Temporary safety deserve neither Freedom or safety.” This war on terror should be called “A War of Ideas”, and i would contend the terrorists are winning. When you see a pattern of behavior from a class of people that fit a specific description, you cannot help but suspect that every time you come across that type of person that they may be dangerous. Thinking it is nothing wrong, acting upon it every time is ridiculous. The word is called vigilance Napolitano and you must be common sense oriented to see patterns. Stereotypes change when the patterns of behavior change. Why ask people to ignore their suspicions? I say listen to your gut and act accordingly.   Somehow profiling all this stuff is logical, but profiling the guys who try this stuff isn’t? And the people this makes sense went through university. What ARE they teaching in the schools these days?

  Try living in Arizona where she used to be our governor!! She absolutely doesn’t remember a thing about our illegal problem. It’s so infuriating to see her making any comments, she’s so clueless!!

I’m originally from Arkansas. When Clinton was elected prez?…I couldn’t believe it…and when he was elected for FOUR more years? … I thought we were doomed as a nation. But, this Janet, the idiot of morons, takes the cake!!! I’ll never understand how things like her (yes, I said “thing”) are in the public eye. She’s a disgrace to our constitution…if Benjamin Franklin was alive?…he’d slap her for me.
