Schools, roads, sewers are mostly state and local issues. Let the people of those states and communities fix their own infrastructure. These communities would be able to work on more infrastructure projects if the EPA would get the heck out of way and stop passing needless regulation. I worked in local government and EPA rules and regs add more time, money and unplanned projects to the local budget than any other agency. Then add all the unfunded mandates that filter down to the local communities. The federal government is not the saving grace of this country. At this pace it is sure to be its ruin. Just a little bit of information for you Nancy, Jan & John and the rest of you: private business would hire more if they did not have an overburden of taxes and regulation. The uncertainty of not knowing what to expect next from those in Congress keeps many people from hiring and expanding (note to Republicans, this means you too). And by the way – keep your filthy paws off the Constitution. It is just fine as it is.

Anybody really think that would work out well for Americans? No. Just like with Obamacares, you have to pass the bill ti see what’s in it, we would get You have to pass the amendment to see what’s in it.

There is no way in *el* that I want this administration to try to change anything in the constitution. It’s already going to take years to undo the damage that has already been done.

Funny how Nancy and her commie cronies actually believe that expanding government equates with expanding freedom. Nothing could be farther from the truth. In the last two years Pelosi, Obama and their ilk have crushed liberty in America with burdensome regulations that kill jobs and they have doubled the national debt to dangerous levels now threatening to bankrupt our economy. Government is strangling the private sector and at the same time, these clueless pols are decrying the lack of jobs in the private sector.   Speaker of the House, Pelosi’s statements on economic stimulus and unemployment insurance shows either a complete lack of understanding of Economics or extremely evil intent. A stupid person could not obtain Ms. Pelosi’s position in life; therefore, the only alternatives are ignorance or evil intent.
  Our problem is not the distribution or the consumption of wealth. Wealth must be created before it can be either distributed or consumed so the problem is the creation of wealth.
  Government force is only effective in the redistribution and consumption of wealth. Force cannot be used to create wealth. Only economic freedom promotes the production of wealth. The fact that force is totally impotent in the creation of wealth is proven by the thousands of years of tyranny that preceding the Industrial Revolution. Ms. Pelosi’s solutions only involve the use of force to redistribute and consume wealth.
  Wealth, unlike energy, can be both created and destroyed and the surest way to destroy wealth is the use of force. Once our wealth has been destroyed or consumed, all of Ms. Pelosi’s proposed solutions will also be totally impotent.
  Remember, both Hitler’s and Mussolini’s coup required a severe economic crisis. Any economy that encourages consumption and discourages production of wealth is certainly headed into a severe economic crisis.   Indeed we have forgotten the roots of the history of the world; and now the chickens are coming home to roost, and the bill will be paid…the question will now be, since the progressives across the board are now taking the masks off, or in Pelosi case never needing to put one on for halloween, how high of the bill will be purchased for in BLOOD?

  Created by order of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the WPA was funded by Congress with passage of the Emergency Relief Appropriation Act of 1935. It was the largest New Deal agency, employing millions of unskilled workers to carry out public works projects, including the construction of public buildings and roads, etc. – essentially building & repairing the country’s infrastructure.
  
  The WPA largely shaped by Harry Hopkins, close advisor to President Roosevelt, was seen as a road to economic recovery and the lessened importance of “the dole” [welfare].
  
  The program was ended in June 1943 as a result of high employment due to the industry boom of WWII. Still subject to debate, many economists & historians question whether the program would have been as successful if the USA had stayed out of the war and the program had continued on a long-term basis.
  
  Interestingly, America’s involvement in WWI [1916] countered the recession of 1897 in much the same way – production needs boomed. But when the war ended, production slowed and there was less need for workers.   The democrat’s ideal society reminds me of the book “The Giver” – where jobs are chosen by a central ‘oracle’ government, sex is controlled through a mandatory pill taken by everyone which suppresses hormones in order to control population, everyone rides bicycles, every child is given a foster family and abortion decisions are determined by them and abnormalities (such as having twins) is considered a violation of protocol.   The biggest employer in the State of Connecticut is the State of Connecticut. Has it worked? No, it hasn’t. “Social Services” are causing high taxes. That has driven out business and that is one reason jobs are gone. The other is “free trade.” That closed the factories down.
  The state is in ruins. It is in debt. If the US Gov. hires the unemployed it will cause swifter economic downturn. Then, many more Americans will wake up and realize that this country is bankrupt.
