New Tactic: Pakistan Taliban Use Husband, Wife Suicide Bombers

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan (AP) — The Pakistani Taliban said Sunday the group had sent a husband and wife suicide squad to carry out an attack on a police station in northwestern Pakistan that killed 10 people, a rare instance of militants using a woman as a bomber.

The pair entered the police station in Kolachi on Saturday and said they were there to lodge a complaint, said Imtiaz Shah, a senior police official. Once inside, the two attacked with grenades and machine guns, triggering a five-hour standoff with police.

Both attackers, including the woman wearing an all-covering robe known as a burqa, eventually blew themselves up. They killed eight police officers and two civilians, said Mohammad Hussain, another police official.

“This shows how much we hate Pakistani security institutions,” Pakistani Taliban spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan told The Associated Press by telephone from an undisclosed location.

Ahsan claimed it was the first time the militant group had used a female suicide bomber.

However, Pakistani officials said a female suicide bomber wearing a burqa attacked a World Food Program food distribution center in northwestern Pakistan late last year, killing 45 people.

The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for that attack in Khar, the main city in the Bajur tribal area, but never claimed it was carried out by a female bomber. Still, that was believed to be the group’s first attack by a female suicide bomber.

Male suicide bombers often don the burqa as a disguise. In 2007, officials initially claimed Pakistan’s first female suicide bomber had killed 14 people in the northwest town of Bannu. But the attacker was later identified as a man.

Islamic militants in Iraq have used female suicide bombers several times because women in their all-covering robes are seen as able to pass more easily through security. Male security officers are often hesitant to search women.

Also Sunday, a bomb planted in a motorcycle exploded near a police station in the central city of Multan, said Zahid Zaman, a senior government official.

The blast wounded eight people, including four police officials, said Wasim Hashmi, chief of the rescue squad in Multan. No group claimed responsibility.

Really! Because they have been using women and children to run ammo, food and water to their fighters during fire fights for years now. They do this because they know our rules of engagement prevent us from killing these enemy Collaborators.

  I agree however let me add a very important note to this.
  
  Islam isn’t just a belief created by a murderous pedophile honoring 1 of over 300 idol gods wrapped around a black rock taken from a ancient pagan religion. it’s a political entity. I don’t know any other country in the world where the constitution is based on it’s holly book.
  
  Islam has gained a foothold in our country under the guise of a religion when in fact it’s a murderous cult and a political force.
  
  Once we understand this and our so called leaders stop preaching they are the religion of peace then we will be able to fight them on level ground. At this point their hiding behind the freedom of religion shroud and we cant touch them.

Evil is as evil does. They have no feelings of remorse for innocent bystanders or anyone else. Whatever God they worship is not one I recognise or want in my life. There is no peace in Islam, and I don’t see any love of fellowman there either. It gives question to where this belief really comes from, hmmmmm?

The Taliban is just one faction of the Islamist radicals that infest the world. Islam, as we all know is not a peaceful religion and they all hate Christians, Jews and Americans. They cannot claim to believe in the God of Abraham. Whatever it is they call Allah is demonic…something they are worshiping above the God of Abraham. The next world war will be a religious war.

  Let’s just cover the cheap oil and get that over with. How many BILLIONS have the American people spent in the Middle East to build schools, roads, power plants and so much more? Have we gotten any reduction in the price of oil? Have we even asked the people of these nations to pay us back? The answer is that the oil is not cheap.
  You see all Americans as responsible for the policy of our government. Well we see all your people as responsible for your governments. We have been attacked by supposedly peace loving individuals that if not actively supported then tacitly supported by these Middle Eastern governments and so by your people. We have dropped bombs on men, women and children, I agree. Well it seems that not all women are innocent as this incident shows. As for children, your murdering bombers don’t seem to draw any differentiation. Killing children like sending them to get their legs blown off so that the soldiers can attack through mine fields is quite the way to fight wars. As for the wonderful peace loving Hamas and their tactics, nuf said.
