Bachmann’s Former Chief-of-Staff: She’s ‘Not Seasoned and Ready to Lead’

Bachmanns Former Chief of Staff: Shes Not Seasoned and Ready to LeadRon Carey, the chairman of the Minnesota Republican Party during Tim Pawlenty’s governorship and the former chief of staff to Rep. Michele Bachmann, has a message for Iowans and Americans, alike: Bachmann isn’t ready to assume the American presidency. In an op-ed for the Des Moines Register, he wrote the following:

I have watched both candidates from behind the public scene. I’ve seen how they handle the pressures of the job; I’ve seen how they lead a staff; and I’ve seen how they would govern if elected to the most powerful office in the world.

Having seen the two of them, up close and over a long period of time, it is clear to me that while Tim Pawlenty possesses the judgment, the demeanor, and the readiness to serve as president, Michele Bachmann decidedly does not.

Carey describes Bachmann’s campaign and congressional offices as “wildly out of control.” He claims that unopened contributions and envelopes filled the offices and that the congresswoman left citizens waiting for answers to communications they had sent. This in mind, he asks, “…how could she possibly manage the magnitude of the presidency?”

Later in the piece, he says he cannot support his former boss, because the Party is too important to him and she is not “not seasoned and ready to lead.”

CityPages.com writes that Carey, who left in July 2010, lasted only five months as Bachmann’s chief of staff. At the time, no one knew why he was making a grand exit, especially considering the success in fundraising that she was experiencing at the time.

Carl Rove and Bush type republicans like this guy are why we are in the mess we are in. You can’t blame the democrats for the EPA you can blame Nixon. Pawlenty sat back and watched Al Franken steel a crucial senate seat. Pawlenty is exactly the type we don’t want. We have to have a tea party candidate or we are finished. If a big government republican is nominated we have to run a third party.

Exactly. Its obvious which wing of the Repugnants this ex-prez of the party there hails from.
Ruling class elites have a hard time stomaching a real conservative, just like they did with Reagan. SOP. I’d say Boehner and McConnell find it hard to force the words out of their mouths that they know the tea party is expecting to hear. ( up for re-election )

Incidentally, did everyone notice Tim Pawlenty speaking at the CFR today on the news? Interesting.

Umm, and was obama seasoned and ready to lead? Here is another fool buying into the idea that it takes anything other than character and principles to lead. When that is ALL that it takes!!!
Now obama may have a relatively decent character, but he is born of marxists, raised by marxists, and coddled by marxists his whole life. In fact, it’s a testament to his character how much he is not a marxist. Nevertheless, the guy is a flaming leftist in his policies so far. America is awakening. November 2010 was just the beginning.
Sarah Palin will win the Presidency of the United States of America in 2012. Michelle will also be President one day, she rocks!
Folks, these two women of such caliber that the godless left is headin’ for the hills, goin’ nuts. It’s all gonna be laid bare. The quaint little village of progressivism is going to be laid waste by the twin howitzers of Palin-Bachman. Pray for them.

Have not said I support Obama. I have said I am a fiscal conservative who has trouble with some of the social issues of many conservatives. I also suggested in my original post that due to the fact that a senior member of her staff, one who has great credentials himself including former president of the Minnesota Repub party, has said that she is not ready to lead should suggest to a reasonable mind that perhaps we do not know her as well has he and thus should look more closely. Where is the problem with that which would draw comments re Obama?

The 2012 ticket needs to beat Obama/Clinton, a Black/Woman Combo with plenty of “seasoning.”

I say go Woman/Black (IF we can figure out how to season 1st time Representative Allen West) or Woman/Hispanic (if Senator Rubio is considered a ‘seasoned 2-year Senator” equal to BO? )

Interesting that Mr. Carey did not overtly endorse Tim Pawlenty. And very inappropriate for a Republican party chairman to speak so critically of a fellow party member, and current Congresswoman. Seems something is smelly in Minnesota politics and based on this vicious attack, Sara Palin should give Michelle Bachmann a welcome to the club. Shame on you Mr. Carey. Resign now.

It’s funny how you support Bachmann but claimed Obama was not qualified because he had no executive experience. Therefore, according to you, because she has no executive experience, she is not qualified to be president. Isn’t that right?

Second, you jump all over Obama and Biden for their gaffes but think it is no big deal when Bachmann flat out lies and says things that are provably false. Just today, she said that John Quincy Adams was a founding father, why don’t you call her on that mistake? Or what about her saying that Obama’s trip to India was going to cost $200 million a day? Or how about her claim that swine flu only breaks out under Democrats when the last outbreak was actually under Ford?

If you actually want people to take you seriously, you may want to think twice about supporting someone that has the same attributes that you so strongly criticize in others.

Lots of anti-Bachmann stories lately. Does The Blaze have a pro-Romney, pro-Mormon agenda? I can’t imagine why they would…

And Allen West would be a HORRIBLE candidate. He’s the least-dynamic speaker since Ben Stein in “Ferris Beuller”, and the military background indicates no skills, knowledge, or experience regarding the REAL issue, which is the economy. Just nominate “John Rambo” or “G.I. Joe” as a write-in candidate…you KNOW you want to.

A leftover from when she was a democrat I presume. He had hoped she would stay a RINO, but she saw the light and figured it out. Being openly conservative in Minnesota used to be a tougher gig. We have our first DINO, woohoo!

America doesn’t want another seasoned politician or a boy from Kenya that was born at age 48.

      Bachmann w/Tea will suit me!

Sounds to me like the blaze is obsessed with negative stories about Michelle. What is this, like number 10 negative to zero positive. Hmm… we must have some gay commie’s writing stories at the Blaze. Sounds like a great way to lose readers.

LOL – Like the current president had ANY experience other than being on academic probation and being token quota that was allowed graduate. Why don’t we write about Hussein’s immense qualifications? After all he is president. What’s the matter is the Blaze misogynistic? It seems obvious with their bias so far for negative articles about her.

I totally AGREE. He’s Hating on her because he ain’t her right hand man. Sounds Bitter to me. That happen’s a lot in pretty much every aspect of life. I can expect it here in the political arena 10 fold.

Everytime Looney Bachmann opens her mouth, she proves she is not ready for prime time.

      This says it all:
“he says he cannot support his former boss, because the Party is too important to him and she is not ‘not seasoned and ready to lead.”

She doesn’t have the blessings of his overlords in the party, so she must be eliminated…

Sounds like the “haters” have re-opened the “hate Palin” playbook for Michele Bachmann . . .

Gotta agree. That was my thought as I read the article. Michelle has much more eperince than nobama did when he was elected and SHE is a patriotic American. She believes in the family, liberty, success, responsibility, and a Constitutional government. All things that nobama doesnt. Pawlenty has no chance. Go Michelle.

Michele Bachmann For President 2012. Save America from communism.
