Media Matters Celebrates Glenn Beck’s Finale Show with ‘Victory’ Party
As Glenn Beck’s finale show on Fox News draws near, the folks at George Soros’ progressive Media Matters are tickled pink. So much so in fact, they even hosted a soiree to celebrate their victory. The group gives themselves a hearty pat on the back and all the kudos for “getting Glenn off the air” by claiming to have pressured advertisers into pulling out of Beck’s time-slot.
Huffington Post’s Zach Carter interviewed various Media Matterites at the event, many of whom said now that Beck is “gone” they’ll be ever-vigilant of the remaining “right wing media nuts” out there — which, according to one attendee, constitutes the entire Fox News network. Ironic, considering a recent UCLA study actually puts Fox News left of center.
Regarding Beck’s plans for the future, another guest at the event believes Beck should “look into the internet” as it provides a large audience of people interested in “baseless conspiracy theories.” Speaking of conspiracies — Carter pointed out to the guest that George Soros, who funds Media Matters, had been shorting Beck on Intrade. “How is that not market manipulation?” Carter asked. Naturally, the question was dodged.
The group that was formed out of a paranoid belief in a right-wing media “conspiracy” doesn’t believe they, themselves, are conspiracy theorists. Priceless.

Posted on June 28, 2011 at 7:33pmI know it’s not exactly the same, but when I first saw this, I thought of the story in Revelation – where everyone rejoiced and had parties to celebrate the death of the two prophets that had been preaching to them and they hated — “to celebrate the death of the two prophets who had tormented them so much!” I consider Glenn to have a prophetic gift about the near future as he’s shared with us & has been right in the past. Anyway – after a few days these prophets come back alive (his new GBTV) as their “enemies watch”…..then there was a terrible earthquake….then everyone, “will, in their terror, give glory to the God of heaven”. Ha! Well, we’ll see …….(maybe not that last part…just yet)

Maybe the “nuts” at Media (Doesn’t) Matters should check into the history of American culture concerning early celebrations. There are multiple examples of the “Red Coats” assuming victory in the battle for independence. Those “assumed” victories were simply a snap-shot of time and not an indicator of final result.
Hang tough Mr. Beck…as they say…it ain’t over ’till the fat lady sings. That WILL happen………who DOES the singing is the big question.
I have a hunch it won’t be the pimps and journalistic hookers at Media Matters.

And yes, Fox does employ some journalists who objectively report on the news (which apparently makes them “left-leaning”). However, the most heavily-promoted shows in the best time slots aren’t news shows; they are OPINION shows, with a definite conservative spin. So while Fox News may claim to have an equal number of left- and right-leaning hosts, they don’t tell you that the programming from 5-9PM is solidly conservative, while the “liberals” are relegated to 12-6AM.

His remarks offended so many people that advertisers realized that the association of their brand with Beck was toxic: it didn’t gain customers (read: profit) but lost customers. Beck’s show was losing money, so FOX, being a capitalistic enterprise, dropped him. He was losing the company money so they got rid of him. That’s capitalism. Good old red, white and blue American capitalism.
Blame who you want, but Beck ultimately failed to make money for his company, so they got rid of him. I love this country and I hope you do too.

Companies found the association of their brand with Beck toxic, so they dropped him. That capitalism. Companies are in in the business of making money, that’s first, political promotion is second, as FOX proved by getting rid of Beck.

Apparently they filed under and education type tax code. Whichthey are in violation of because they using tax payer funds and large dollar amount donations to run a Democratic leaning boot camp aimed at assaulting the 1st amendment rights of individuals and corporations. Not too long ago IRS denied tax exempt status to The American Campaign Academy which the IRS found was being run by Republican operatives for participating in similar activities that Media Matters is currently engaged.
