This is the Video of the Man Crashing His Jetpack on Live TV
The title of this story pretty much says it all. But Alex Alvarez sums it up pretty well:
In the following video, please enjoy what happens when “John” attempts to fly his jetpack for a live Fox Five Morning News segment during the San Diego Yacht and Boat Show. And know that, yes, you are an awful human being for laughing at this.

The Bear Story

Posted on July 16, 2011 at 2:15pmSmall trivia: the newscaster says that the flyer looks like Carl DeMaio — which is a little bit true. More importantly to viewers of The Blaze, Carl DeMaio is a local City Councilman that has rattled the establishment cages with some much needed true fiscal conservatism. Carl is also running for mayor, and currently leading in the polls. If elected, San Diego would be able to boast of having the most fiscally conservative mayor of all major US Cities. And yes, that’s San Diego…. CALIFORNIA, of all places. Funny video.

Posted on July 16, 2011 at 10:04am@ Robert: Its a toy, you dont see the gas powered pump pressurizing the tube of limited length that he is dragging around. Not very portable if its fixed to a dock. Just a rich mans toy. Does look like fun though!
If you want to see the real version, check out an old James Bond movie, its in one of them.

Posted on July 16, 2011 at 6:33amThis is an outrage! That thing should be outlawed! The pump could suck up and mangle some kind of protected sea kittens.

Posted on July 15, 2011 at 6:51pmJetpacks are not practical at all. They are only good for about a half a minute of flight. They have a glide ratio of an anvil strapped to a manhole cover!

Posted on July 16, 2011 at 8:34amI agree it’s a very innovative invention.
It would be even better if the propulsion system could be adapted with a fuel other than water, because the apparatus seems to be allowing him to control his forward and backward speeds, as well as turn, and he was able to hover as well.
With a few improvements and operator practice it would be an excellent way to travel short distances. It would save lots of gas and reduce the traffic on crowded freeways.
Make it mandatory to demonstrate proficiency with one, like a driver’s license, to reduce accidents.
