Syrian Tribal Leader Threatens to Barbecue U.S. Ambassador Like Lamb and ‘Eat’ Him ‘With or Without Salt’

In polite society, statesmen are revered for their diplomacy and ability to bring people together, but in Syrian tribal societies, they apparently deserve to be barbecued and “eaten” like a lamb kebab. Literally.

Ahmad Al-Shlash, a tribal leader in Syria, gave an interview to the Arabic language channel Al-Dunya TV in which he, along with his “cousins,” reportedly called for the U.S. Ambassador to Syria, Robert Stephen Ford, to be cooked and eaten like “American mutton,” either “with salt or without salt.”

According to MEMRI TV, Al-Shlash also reportedly vowed the U.S. ambassador would only visit the Syrian town of Deir Al-Zour “over his dead body” and that he would “personally” stop the ambassador were the emissary to ever show up. For good measure, Al-Shlash cursed the American flag, calling it a “piece of….”

Of the U.S. ambassador, Al-Shlash reportedly said:

“That man, sitting in his embassy… I don’t get it. Who does he think he is – Christopher Columbus, exploring the area here? I don’t get it. I would like to convey a message to the security forces and to the entire world. The young people of Deir Al-Zour will not let him set foot in their city. I am talking about my cousins and my tribe. If they let me down, I myself will prevent him from entering Deir Al-Zour. By Allah, over my dead body will he ever enter Deir Al-Zour.

“One of my cousins said: ‘I swear by Allah, we will blow up the ground on which he sets foot. We will turn the road into smoldering coals.’

“Another cousin of mine said to me: ‘We are known for having the best mutton in the world. For the first time, Allah willing, we will be eating American mutton. Whether his flesh is bitter or not, with salt or without salt – we will eat him up.’

“Let me issue a warning. We cannot vouch for this man’s safety if he so much as sets foot on the threshold of Deir Al-Zour.” […]

      It’s good to know that our Secretary of State and President’s apologizing for America tour has won us so many new friends in the Middle East. They do not fear us anymore and they certainly do not respect us. What do you call someone who apologizes for their own country and tries to suck up to the leaders of other countries? Sycophants and traitors. Until the U.S. has leaders with backbone who believe this is the greatest country in the world to live in and commands respect from other nations because we earn it, we will be lost.

      Hmmm, could someone please cite the passage in th Quran where Mohammad calls for making shish-ka-bob or stew of the American mutton? Wow, what a statesman (the tribal ‘leader’), that is! The real question is why such heathen bluster is revered by ‘followers’! Followers of what?

      This religion is a religion of hate. Even the Islam which means submit not peace is a word of intimidation. After spending a year researching this I have concluded that the koran is a handbook for hate and conquest. I can not accept such philosophy as good.

    Al-Shlash’s papa was his mother’s brother. These guys talk like they could really hurt us. The minute our troops came in there they would be dropping their diapers and asking who wants to be their daddy. These inbred idiots are Obuttstain’s relatives who own a lot of oil but yet they are still like caveman. They’ve killed off each other for centuries and sharia law will never let their women live in peace. And Obuttstain is so proud to be an islam like these inbreds.

    Well, if you’re gonna eat him with salt you better do it soon before it’s illegal. Oh wait.. you live in an oppressive dictatorship so you have alot of personal freedoms. In the USSA you we are getting “nudged ” away from salt. I am pretty sure mutton is illegal already, unless you are the first lady, who likes mutton and fries.

    In all of this brothers and sisters in Christ remember we as individuals are called to love and pray FOR our enemy’s. The nations however are called to protect their people. Ours had better start soon.
    I want nothing more then to see the Muslims see Jesus for who He is and find their rest and salvation as a result.
    Please do not forget that Jesus died FOR them just as He did for you. That gives them great value.
    This does not mean we roll over and play dead though. We need to speak the truth in love key there is truth.

    In contrast, when Jesus’ disciples wanted to level a town by calling down fire on it (like Elijah did against the priests of Baal) for refusing to listen to Jesus’ message or give them customary hospitality, Jesus REBUKED his disciples for their BAD ATTITUDE!

    Here we go with the stakes being raised yet once again; this is being done by the Assad government as they have failed to turn the public of Syria attention from the protesters and soon-to-be uprising, to Israel. So they have chosen the next target in line, the US, and possibly the French as well to see which will rise to the bait and give Assad the diversion to an external enemy he desperatly needs to have right now.

      The State Department should have recalled Ambassador Ford before Sec of State Clinton’s saying, “Assad is illegitimate”. The White House statement came two days later; which I thought was out of sequence.

Al Sharpton likes quoting Ronald Reagan so much, let’s recall the moment Reagan sent those F-111′s to Libya to curtail a few undesirable emotions…. A real leader would invoke that very thing here.
