Democratic Socialist Cornel West Upset Obama Won’t Call Him Back

Frequent Bill Maher panel guest and prominent member of the Democratic Socialists of America, professor Cornel West, has been upset with Barack Obama of late. The Princeton professor called his former “brother, companion and comrade,” out in May for having “a certain fear of free black men.”

“Brother Barack Obama had no sense of gratitude, no sense of loyalty, no sense of even courtesy, [no] sense of decency, just to say thank you. Is this the kind of manipulative, Machiavellian orientation we ought to get used to? That was on a personal level.”

In the same interview West went on to call the President “a black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs and a black puppet of corporate plutocrats.” West’s comments were denounced by many liberal blogs and commentators, some of which classified West’s anger towards the President as a product of the Princeton professor’s own ego and sense of left-wing elitism, rather than any real ideological qualms with Obama.

Now in a recent New York Times Magazine interview, the left-wing ideologue has admitted that he went on a media tirade against the President because the leader of the free world did not call and thank him for campaigning on Obama’s behalf.

“I think he had to keep me at a distance. There’s no doubt that he didn’t want to be identified with a black leftist. But we’re talking about one phone call, man. That’s all. One private phone call.”

West had advocated Barack Obama for President at 65 campaign events. In the same interview West reaffirmed his comment that the President “feels most comfortable with upper-middle-class white and Jewish men who consider themselves very smart,” as an objective fact. West has spent his entire career in academia, including a short stint at Harvard that ended after West resigned in response to the university president calling his rap album an “embarrassment.”

Mr. West, You have every right ot be mad at your’ brother’, the pres. If I were you I would make sure not to support him in 2012. No more campaigning and for heaven sakes don’t vote for him. That should show the pres whose boss.

  When the extremist say they won’t support Obama does that put Obama closer to the center? I hope it does not give the appearance that Obama is not as far left as he actually is…I sort hope the fringe nuts continue to support Obozo so ALL of America will wake the hell up.   This man illustrates plainly the degeneration going on right now in the universities. Because African Americans were unable to qualify for professorial positions in most subjects, generally, the bulls**t course of African American studies was created. This character is the product of that perversion.
  Henry Gates, the “yo mama” Harvard “professor” who hatefully condemned the police for protecting his residence, backed up by the community organizer, is another.
  
  They exist throughout the country in the same bulls**t positions, and most all of them are racists and haters of the highest order, spewing anti-white rhetoric, and are some of the main contributors to the black violence that’s been growing in leaps and bounds….especially lately.
  
  People who contribute to universities who provide these African Studies malcontents with a forum should halt funding 100% right now. If not, here’s hoping they might become the beneficiaries of the animalistic behavior these types help to create in order to get a close up and personal view of the situation.

  Not that anybody here cares, but if you are EVER going to be taken seriously you need to at least get an education on political ideologies. The comments on this article (and virtually every article about Obama) continue to call him a Socialist, a Marxist, a Communist, Fascist, whatever term you think is the most insulting. All of those political ideologies are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. You cannot be a Marxist AND a Socialist, or a Socialist AND a Communist. Hard to take someone seriously when they are out screaming names at someone and they don’t even know what the meaning behind those names is. It is just more ignorant, blind hatred from the right. Get your name calling straight at least. I will give you some help with me though. I am a PROUD socialist. That means I disagree with communism, fascism and Marxism. If you actually knew anything about politics, you would understand that, and also maybe you would understand why nobody really takes Glenn and his ignorant army seriously.

  Here is the chronological order – socialism leads to marxism, marxism leads to communism.
  They are all variations of a theme base on the control of people and lack of freedom. It all leads to totalitarianism.
  Based what I know about Obama’s past and those that he chooses to surround himself with, I would say he is a communist at heart but is currently wearing the mask of a progressive. Whatever this man is it is not good for America.
  I wouldn’t consider calling Obama a communist as “name calling” but rather an educated guess based on the facts. After all his childhood mentor was a communist named Frank Marshall Davis and that fact comes from Obama’s own book.

Our current prez has contempt for all things American. He is not biased in his ideology, regardless of ethnicity. If you are American, you should follow his lead, and bow your heads in shame for actually believing that you are exceptional. Half white, half black, commie, greaser, soche. To paraphrase Margaret Thatcher, “The Problem with ‘Democratic Socialism’ is that eventually you run out of Other People’s Power.” Cornell West’s only real gripe should be that President Obama’s “Strings” are being pulled by a DIFFERENT Puppet Master than Cornell West had intended. He thought he was getting a puppet of his very own to play with, but he backed a Socialist with a slightly different agenda than his own. Boo hoo: Sorry, Cornell, it sucks to be you! (For that matter, it sucks to be us, too. We have to put up with him…for a little while longer, anyway.)
