Fox Host Varney on Soros: ‘I Do Not Like Billionaire Socialists Who Hate America and Try to Make Money Out of Our Ruin’

Well here’s something that has seemed to ruffle Media Matters’ feathers. During a segment on Thursday morning’s Fox and Friends, Fox Business host Stuart Varney told his fellow Fox hosts and America what he really thinks of “billionaire socialists” like George Soros.

Varney was responding to a statement put out by Soros in which Soros asserts he always puts the “public interest” over his own self-interest in business. Soros stated:

“I have made it a principle to pursue my self-interest in my business subject to legal and ethical limitations and to be guided by the public interest. If the two are in conflict, the public interest ought to prevail.”

That’s when Varney unleashed, citing an instance where Soros reportedly did in fact put his own interest above not just another person’s but an entire country’s citizens. The discernibly irritated Varney fired back:

“Tell that to the Thais who were left in misery after he [Soros] made hundreds of millions in dollars in profits on them . That set off the ‘Asian Contagion’ currency crisis of 1997. Soros bet against Thailand, they lost their shirts and they live in misery to this day and he made hundreds of millions. Where is the public interest?”

“It was not in their [Thais'] interest,” Varney reminded.

Varney then blasted, “I do not like billionaire socialists who hate America and try to make money out of our ruin. I don’t like that.”But the Varney & Co. host had to quit while he was ahead, acknowedging to his fellow Fox hosts that he was getting “wound up.”

For reference, the Asian Contagion currency crisis refers to a series of currency devaluations in 1997 that started in Thailand and spread throughout various Asian markets, causing major stock market declines, diminished import revenues and reportedly even government upheaval. Soros is blamed by many, including Thailand itself, to be the trigger behind the Asian financial crisis as his hedge fund had a large bet against the Thai baht. A Forbes report from 2007 states that Soros is in fact so reviled by the Thai, that he cannot even step foot in the country.

And shortly after the segment aired, Media Matters latched on, posting the clip almost immediately on its website. Now watch Varney tell us what he really thinks of “billionaire socialists”:

Hooray for you, Sir! I agree with you. The best thing is that GOD AGREES with us, and one of these days VERY SOON, that horrid man soros is going to meet his MAKER. Guess what, sorocitos? On that day, at that moment. ALL the horrible, despicable things you have done, you have thought, you have wished are going to come down on you full force. I hope for all the people and the countries you personally have destroyed by whatever means, a full HEAVENLY vindication of their pain and a forever-after existence for you of having to endure ALL the total pain you have caused others.

  Cool, I know what he means. I’m not too fond of billionairs like the Koch brothers or Murdoch subverting Democracy either. What bothers me most is that the people they influence make them richer and those same people poorer. If these guys have their way, their riches will ever increase and yours, those worship at their alter, will become poorer.

  If anyone was a candidate for a government assassin squad to pay a visit to him this pig Soros is the guy, not only does the U.S have an interest and justification in seeing this guy dead but the U.K , Israel and at least 1/2 dozen other nations where he has caused untold harm and misery would also be justified in helping him meet his maker.

  I will rejoice with the Living and Just God watching Soros burn in hell for all eternity. I pray he sees the light and turns away from his evil actions, but if not, it is a righteous thing to glory in God’s justice.

  Agreed. Last year on Memorial Day, I did an interview with a WWII veteran for a piece on Asamom.org. He flat out said this country was more patriotic before we got a communist in the white house. I got a letter from Soros yesterday asking me to join his pro-Marijuana shadow organization the Drug Policy alliance. Soros sending me a letter. He asked me to join it in the name of “Americans just like you who are unwilling to pay ever higher costs–measured in our taxes as well as our liberty.”

That’s right, George Soros lecturing us about our taxes and our liberty; the open communists who asks for large government and high taxes lecturing us about taxes and liberty. This man is not only an evil, insane nutcase, he’s also a joke.

The first King George wanted america to succeed in order to collect taxes from us. Under King Georges sock puppet, Obama, it just the opposit. Liberals make everything worse…it’s like when a two year old helps you cook. They only make a bigger mess and leave it to be cleaned up by the adults.
