Too Far? NYC Real Estate Firm Turns Heads With Racy New Ad Campaign
How did you find your last apartment? The Internet? A friend? Going through a broker?
Think back to your last search, and ask yourself: Could this little advertisement have caught your eye?
Meet Manhattan real estate firm MNS, which is counting on the old “sex sells” adage to draw in business. They launched an ad campaign this week that basically suggests a hot apartment will mean hot sex, summed up with the tagline: “I don’t remember his name, but his apartment…” There are five different versions of the ad, including a graphic that shows a woman’s legs lying on top of a man’s, and one with a woman sitting on the edge of a bed, about to slip off her red heels.
To further promote the idea, they’ve even created a website urging visitors to “share your story about the best apartment you ever hooked up in.”
One woman wrote about a sexual tryst in an apartment in Tribeca: “I stayed there all day just chilling out and enjoying the place and the jacuzzi. It turned out I enjoyed the day more than the previous night.”
“You can make a correlation between the quality of your apartment and the quality of women you get, ” Ryan McCann, executive vice president of marketing at MNS told the New York Post:
According to the firm’s website, many of the rentals come with a price tag of at least $12,000 per month, and apartments for sale tick up into seven or even eight figures.
MNS owner Andrew Barrocas said the ad campaign works perfectly for their intended demographic: Young professionals with money to burn on expensive pads.
“We felt that it is a little on the risque side but we felt that it really relates well to the audience we’re going after,” Barrocas said. “It’ll keep evolving. That’s one of the things that really differentiates us from everyone else.”
So what do you think? Would this campaign work on you? Let us know in the comments and take the poll.

Therefore if women <3 money
and heterosexual men <3 women
then heterosexual men must <3 money

Posted on August 4, 2011 at 9:11pmActually, I do think this ad is a bad ad. Look at what it implies. It is promoting casual sex. Oh and your example of “disemboweling” someone is plan out dumb. If you really think nobody would care if you disemboweled someone, I’ll tell you right now that I would and I’d want to know you were executed for doing it. I wouldn’t care if there was a “booby” shown either. I’d want you dead for doing such a heinous crime.

What’s wrong with that? Don’t knock it ’till you try it.
“Oh and your example of βdisembowelingβ someone is plan out dumb.”
‘plan out dumb’–what are you, some kind of moron? If you’re going to insult someone else’s intelligence, it helps your credibility a little if you can spell your response properly.

You really are an idiot–he clearly meant it in an advertising context (you know, that thing that we’re talking about right now). It’s hypocritical, and a little silly, as I’m sure he was implying, that advertisers, the media, and television in general, have such a high acceptance and prevalence of violence, something most people would consider ostensibly wrong, at the very least without some kind of justification, while sex, at worst an enjoyable experience between to people for purely physical reasons, is completely taboo and wrong to talk about or even suggest as civilized.
Come on people, get over yourselves–it’s just sex.

IT’S NOT LIKE WHAT POLITICIANS AND THIS ADMINISTRATION ARE ADVERTISING TO US……….. PURE LIES AND DECEIT…. and they do it for our own good (didn’t you know that???)
At least the RE advertiser does it for their own good….

I pray she only remembers the apartment. I don’t even care if she remembers whether I was good or not…as I already moved on.

Jeez can I not go one day with out you bible thumpers peddling your product on me?
In my 43 years I have never once blamed the worlds problems on a lack of God or religion because it’s not the reason, but you thumpers just can’t go a minute without blaming everything on a lack of people sharing your beliefs.
You try to blame everything on a moral lack of god and religion…yet you refuse to look at the psychological facts and those facts are just that facts….humans are not meant to be monogamous. I know you thumpers can’t stand that and refuse to believe it, but its fact and it cannot be corrected by forced morals.
Procreation is the driving force of nature, and sex appeal is a means by which it is insured. In nature a male is meant to procreate with every female possible and the females are programmed to select the best and most viable mate.
But you thumpers always try to distort that and push your beliefs, here we have a case of capitalism, but since it goes against your beliefs you again have to lay blame and force your views rather than accept reality.
I respect your opinion and right to it, I just don’t respect the close minded blame you so eagerly share.

Homosexuality, bestiality, pedophilia, pornography…And even lasciviousness. They are all sexual perversions. The very thought that man was not made to marry a single woman and raise a family is just…absurd! It is both the saddest and the funniest thing I have read today!

@TROLLTRAINER Wow you pegged me all of the above. NOT, whatever. Jeez I’m sorry that since I am Native American and have different beliefs than your Anglo Christian views you have to attack and label me incorrect. Sorry My grandparents and parents taught me to respect all others religion and beliefs, but at the same time to demand they respect mine. I never force my beliefs on others, but jeez my whole life others have tried to force theirs upon me.
But I am sorry your belief that a single man and a single woman are meant as the only way is wrong. It is a choice, but it is not in fact the way of nature.
Oh and I won’t stoop to your level calling you a pedophile, Homosexual, etc. After all I don’t know you any better than you know me. I’m not a liberal, but you sure sound like one.

I did not label you as anything except godless. I am happy you are Native American and I really do not much care what your beliefs are. The fact is the only way to the Father is through the Son. You have your tradition but you have also heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is your choice to make. If you want to dip your wick in anything that has hair it is your prerogative. If you obeyed God you would know better. You would know that man was designed for a monogamous relationship, correct me if I am wrong, but are not most Native Americans also monogamous?

Posted on August 4, 2011 at 8:03pmThere it is, you label me. You label me godless you say the only way to the father is through the son, because my beliefs and teachings are different than yours. You see we Natives believe in a Father as well and a mother, but we don’t share your belief that he had a son that died for our sins. We don’t have guilt in our beliefs. Yes I have heard your gospel, and yes it is a choice to make. My choice is to believe in what has been handed down to me from my elders. I have no issue that you choose to believe different from me, but I have never understood how or why its your way or the highway.
And yes most natives Americans are monogamous, as am I, but a point I have tried to convey that you and many Christians seem to not understand is the rule of nature. Monogamy is a choice, and there is nothing wrong with that choice. But it is not a set in stone by Gods path, nature holds differently and if you are in tune with it you would see that.

Posted on August 4, 2011 at 8:21pm@NoName22….By who’s version of God are you referring to? Your Christian view, or my Native American view. Again you only show how you Christians think you are the only ones that are right and all else are wrong.
How many of my ancestors were slaughtered because of a different view,? How many were killed in the witch hunts and crusades?
You most likely know nothing of my beliefs, yet persecute it as wrong…..although I don’t share your Christian beliefs, I don’t knock them as wrong and stand up for the right for you to have them. Why must I defend my beliefs from yours?
What makes your beliefs correct over mine?

I actually wrote a very long post giving you the gospel message but did not post it. I will not waste your time. There is only 1 God. There is only 1 way to Him. The Bible lays all this out. I am sorry that you do not think it is “fair” but there it is. God loves the whole world, and He gives everyone the chance to come to Him. The way to do that is through His Son. It is your choice to make, the information is out there and I will gladly talk with you about it. But I do respect your beliefs, though they are wrong, and I will not argue with you about them.
