Chris Matthews Compares Rick Perry to 1960′s Segregationist Bull Conner

Chris Matthews Ties Rick Perry to Civil Rights Era Racist Bull Connor MSNBC’s talking heads won’t stop hammering Texas Gov. Rick Perry this week. With their fists continuing to fly, both Ed Shultz and Chris Matthews have attempted to convince audiences that the governor is a racist.

First, there was “The Ed Show’s” suspect editing of a video clip in order to make it seem as though Perry was making a racist remark about America’s first black president (Shultz has since offered a pseudo-apology).

Then, last night, Chris Matthews made a startling association — that Rick Perry is like “Bull Connor with a smile.”

For those who don’t know, Connor was a Democrat and the Commissioner of Public Safety for the city of Birmingham, Alabama during the civil rights era. He infamously directed the use of fire hoses and attack dogs against peaceful, African American protestors — extreme brutality that was rooted in sheer racism.

This bizarre statement came after Matthews’ guest, Wayne Slater of The Dallas Morning News, reacted to Perry’s criticisms of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Slater explained that entitlements are only the beginning in the push for “states rights.” According to The Daily Caller, he said:

“The question is the attack on Perry is ‘Social Security is a Ponzi scheme,’ ‘Medicare needs to be changed or potentially abolished,’ which is not precisely what he said. Raising questions about the Voting Rights Act saying it is just a tool for gerrymandering in the South and the Civil Rights Act — the terms under which we’ve established — this has the look of someone who when he talks about states’ rights, states’ rights, states’ rights could make some voters, again — very nervous.”

Matthew’s reply to this was as follows:

“Yeah, this is going to be Bull Connor with a smile.”

I was doing a search on utube and found a 2008 poll done during the primarys. Some Universty set up a standard questionaire and asked people the questions-who is Harry Reid,Nancy Pelosi…etc. None of the people asked(everyone asked was voting for the new potus) could answer. Then they were asked who could see Russia from their house-everyone answered Palin. These are the people voting!!! and they watch Johnny Stewart and Chrissy Mathews and CNN and nothing else. It was funny and sad that uneducated dolts voted our president in. Don’t think the MSM does not have control of a great number of minds and these people WILL believe any and ALL lies. Keep your guard up and your cameras out-it’s all about survival as a country.

  EVERYONE was doing better, except for the uber rich in the 60′s than now. The poverty rate was less, the dropout rate was less, the blacks were advancing at a faster rate than whites. Separate but equal was clearly a better deal for the poor hard working blacks.

  I know, my friend. An iq test should be administered before anyone is allowed to vote. During my campaign for sheriff, some years ago, my eyes were opened to the complete morons that not only are voters, but in the media.   Did someone check with Bull Conner’s relatives they might consider this an insult? Based on what I have researched, right or wrong Bull Conner seemed to have the strength of his convictions even when the rich and powerful chased him out. Perry appears to be hand picked and owned by the rich and powerful…. so basically business as usual. Federal spending viewed as an ATM, just some shifting on who gets the debit cards.

And Fox news put as much attention to them in an attempt to defend her as MSNBC did. Good example is her resent insight into Paul Revere. Michele Bachmann learned from her that saying outrageous things gets you attention in the media and evidently a pseudo celebrity status. So in a similar vein she will hang out for a while, loss the nomination but keep saying stupid things. No worries though, she will like Sister Sarah, writes some books that appeal to the few million who support her, do some speeches for the Christian right for some extra cash and take it all to the bank. Governor, then Governor. Perry has the experience to be a triple threat to defeat Obama and bring this country out of the economic disaster. He is a no nonsense type of man to be able to speak to the common man on the street yet be able to go blow for verbal blow with Obama in a debate. We need a strong figure at this point in time due to the growing Middle East turmoil and it will only get worse. America needs a Strong man to kick butt and make these Muslim terrorists realize we do not have a spineless wimp in the White House anymore……
